TOPIC: Final Common - Rare Token Images

Final Common - Rare Token Images 1 year 11 months ago #1

Thanks for all the suggestions for the last minute tweaks. They are all appreciated -- even if not all were made. I am going to call these "done" so that y'all will still find a few more errors or tweaks needing to be made!

And let me once again thank you all for your help and patience with this crazy process. I hope next year to have more time to "pre-game" the collection.

Here are the current proofs for the Common - Rare tokens.

Pendant of Healing, is there any limit on the Paladin healing themselves? I just remembered that Remove Disease only works on others.

Corsair Eye Patch from this year shows it transmutes to Mystic Silk, the Uncommon Eyepatch of Wealsight shows Darkwood Plank. Should it be Silk?

The Common Grave Hunter Shield is +2AC and -2 Reflex Saves, the Uncommon Nightbane Shield is +2AC and -1 damage from Undead. These seem very close in power. Maybe make the Common Shield only -1 to Reflex Saves?

Check out 2020 shields.

Common: guardian large shield: 2ac, -2 ref

UC shield of the stag: 1AC, +2 ref

UC large wooden shield: 2AC.

I think the 2023 shields fit precedence fairly well. The UC nightbane shield is slight above the curve for 2AC UC shields, but I’m not sweating it.

Hi Jeff,

Understood, my question is about who can be targeted by the Pendant of Healing. Remove Disease, as defined in the Player’s Handbook, can only target other characters, not the Paladin. Does using the Pendant carry the same limitation?

The class card says target, which would include the Paladin. Seems one needs an update.

Not sure I like the word "total" on the Rare Tokens that give different bonuses. Maybe it's just me but it can be a little ambiguous. For instance, the Bead of the Buccaneer reads " +1 to DEX (Bard and Rogue: total +2 DEX). Does that mean the Bead only gives the Bard and Rogue +1 to DEX if they are not already at +2 to total DEX? Or does it mean they get +2 to DEX? If the later then why not just remove the word "total' and have it read "Bard & Rogue: +2 DEX". Same goes for all the other Tokens like this.

Is the Potion of Polymorph Dire Squirrel intended for "everyone's" use? I think that is cool if it's the case, especially since you could have a whole party of crazed squirrels

If it read simply “Bard & Rogue: +2 DEX” - then many players especially new ones might read that as the Bard and Rogue get an additional +2 for a total of +3.

Maybe “Bard & Rogue: +2 DEX instead” if you don’t like the “total +2” wording

I like highlighting the bigger benefit to the specific classes first. How about: "Bard & Rogue +2 DEX, all others +1 DEX"

And you could do this with the others. Bracelets of Far Reach: "Ranger +3 to Missile damage, all others +2 to Missile dmg"

Sorry...it has been a long month! ;) In the past I think we have used the term "target" to mean "self + others". Otherwise we used "Self" or "Others".
