TOPIC: overcounting XP

overcounting XP 1 month 1 week ago #1

I like to record one of each adventure per con even if I've done them before, and I noticed that as of right now, the website is giving me XP Towards Total for all four of these runs:

Tomb of Terror Redux - Normal
Curse of Crimson Isle - Hardcore
Gamehole - Curse of Crimson Isle - Epic
GenCon Tomb of Terror – Legacy - Epic

Yes, my AC is lower than the Wizard's. No regrets!

I also notice that the XP program was giving full Hardcore XP for Golden Obelisk, although the “ConQuest” page says that it can be played on Normal or Hardcore but only gives XP for Normal

I was going to send a message in to the same effect as David. While I wouldn't mind having the extra, I'm aware that the two runs that were previously done shouldn't count twice for me either. I am very glad I did them and I add them like David does so it's a listing of the events I've taken part in, not to game the system. :)

I wasn't supposed to be level 10 yet, but ended up getting there. If this gets fixed, one more VTD will get me there again.

Let me guess, you were the kid who reminded the teacher that she forgot to assign homework, weren’t you?!

I kid, I kid. FWIW, I tend to do the same thing (record one of each run at each con to help me remember what I did where), and it looks like the site is erroneously giving me XP for Tomb of Terror Redux and Crimson Isle. (I’d prefer to keep the 2,000 XP from doing ToT on Epic last year and lose the 1,000 XP from Normal this year.)

Fixes look to be in progress. The Golden Obelisk xp is now at 850 for both Normal and Hardcore levels of difficulty.

If you pulled off Obelisk on hardcore, you deserve something extra. I recommend an extra 1 xp point. That way, only those who tried the REALLY hard task of completing it on hardcore can have the strange looking xp total :)

And if we did that vets would be pushing newbies once again, so let's not.

Sadly, I have to support Wade on this one. I'd love the extra xp, but all it takes is one person to misbehave in order to ruin the experience for many others.

It appears as if all the issues are resolved. Only normal level xp for The Golden Obelisk and no additional xp for Crimson Isle or Tomb of Terror.

Thank you (I think).

Edit: It's close. I can see some xp totals haven't reset yet to remove the extra xp. It's no longer in the detail, but total isn't fully adjusted yet. Probably still in progress.

Edit #2: Yep. I can see totals correcting, so probably checked while things were still updating.
