i seem to recall a town being right on the u.s. and canadian border. something like it is split right down main street and even someone's home. has anyone heard about this. setting up mines here might be tricky.

I took US-Canadian Relations in college (poli-sci major), and in our textbooks was a story about a woman whose house lies on the border, literally dividing her house into Canada and the US.
I don't know - the book didn't get into the specifics of that. It was mostly used as an example of the friendly relationship between the two nations.
The day that I watched the Black Orc Game demos. I really liked the models and I mean the size vs. the price as well as the detail. The ease of the rules and how they translated to the battlefield. Then of course it's not hard to guess what happened next. Yep, That's Right! I became a proud volunteer. Instead of watching the people behind the demo tables. I was the one running the demo's. The owners of the company was nice and down to earth as well as all the other volunteers. The best thing was not only the cons and all the things that went with it. It was being able to run demos every place imaginable all over the state. From the smallest of gaming stores to some pretty sizable ones when I had spare time. Most of all it was fabulous to meet all the crazy people that have an interest in gaming. While there are some that I will never forget there are a few I wish I could forget. LOL! Once in a great while I kick back and wonder what would have happened if I would have been brave enough to take that job that was offered. When the my time was done I knew I could never volunteer again. There was just no way of ever volunteering for a company with the same feel! Boy,was I wrong! Here's to a new set of unforgetable memories.

So many...

Mine was probably walk-up volunteering for the Dwarven Forge booth in 2000 when D&D 3.0 just came out. It was crazy busy, and luckily I knew the product really well since I was such a big fan. I ended up working the whole Con, getting a bunch of sets, and being asked to "run" DF booths at future Cons. A few years later I am running the company! It was a wild time and it was cool to be a part of something that was/is so cool...kinda like TD!
