So, how far is the MoA from the airport anyway?

Literally, across the freeway. If you come in on the right runway, it's the last thing you see before you touch down. There's a light rail line that connects the airport directly to the mall, too. Although I've never taken it, I'm sure it's a very short ride. It was meant to be a destination - people would fly into MSP, spend a day or two shopping, and fly home. No car needed with all the hotels and shuttles in the area. If you give it a couple years, they will have built the expansion with a hotel right in the new section of the mall.

Consider my officially curious. When I land, I will look into it if only for an hour. Thanks for the heads up! :)

Hrm... we'll see. You may be just so exhausted from GenCon that you'd rather have a little catnap on your layover! I know I'll spend most of my trip home snoozing.

I wish I could do that - just can't sleep on planes. I think when I flew home from Thailand, I might have dozed for maybe 1/2 an hour for the entire 19 hour journey.
I'm pretty good at sleeping, or at least resting, on plane flights. I'd better be, I'm red-eye'ing it to GenCon, and won't get any sleep at all Monday night to Tuesday morning, unless it's on the plane! Considering I get an average of 4 hours of sleep per night at GenCon (though I do honestly try for more), I hope to arrive with at least some rest.

Benadryl is your friend on planes.

I agree. I take benadryl (which also helps with motion sickness) and just sleep on all my flights.

Jenett

I can't sleep on flights either. I think it has something to do with the fact that I am sitting up. My brain thinks I am driving a car or something.
Seriously though, I am curious about the Mall of America. I heard there is actually a rollercoaster there! :O

West Edmonton Mall's got a Rollercoaster, too. And mini-golf. And a wave pool with waterslides. And a skating rink. And an awful lot of shopping.

Pity nobody's flight makes a layover in Edmonton.

Meh, not much of a mall person, although if I ever had a lengthy layover in Edmonton I'd probably seek out some pixie friendly Orange Chicken I once heard rumored existed. ;)

Well if I ever do stop over in Edmonton, that Mall will be on my list of places to see! :)

WEM even has new rides now. I think there's one where you spin as you go around a roller coaster type of ride. Looked interesting but I am not going to try it. At least not until my balance has been restored. It is currently off center and due to get even worse. Still it is a pity that Edmonton isn't on any lay over lists. Still it just means people will have to come to visit E-town for its own accord!

Lady Myke

I don't recommend flying NWA, if you can avoid it. They used to be my carrier of choice, but due to poor management they are falling apart. These "cancellations" they are having are do to, among other things, too few pilots who are restricted on the number of hours they can fly. They get worse as the month gets later.

I'm glad you got it all straightened out!

We'll see you in just over 3 weeks!

My flight home will take... oh wait... I mean my drive will be about 20 minutes. =D
