Puck was one of the earliest comic chars I remember getting killed off - or was it just mortally wounded so he could not do his thing...I dunno...so yeah, what gives how did AF bite the big one?

Alpha Flight's logo was not in all CAPITAL LETTERS, so the Canadian government shut them down.<br /><br />                                                    :tongue3:

My family owns a cabin on beautiful, Lake Metigoshe up in da Turtle "Mountains" der. Dats over near Peace Gardens now. <br /><br />Heh - you do a pretty convincing accent. I've known eastern Canadians who sound just like that.<br />I'm from the western reaches of Canada, tho. We say "abowt" more than "aboot", and don't care much about that import business. It's the Pacific Salmon that's the hot issue, and whether the US will let our mad cows cross the border. And how much we can charge you for our gas. <br /><br />As for Alpha Flight... Jeff's only half right. The government shut 'em down because they wouldn't comply to the bilingual regulations. The cover should have said "Alpha Flight : Vol d'Alpha"!

Yeah, WTH is up with that anyway. The post office forced me to rip open a padded envelop and buy another just to capitalize the freaking address. I figure the damn canadian government owes me around $1.25.

<br /><br />SPOILER WARNINGS ON ALPHA FLIGHT:<br /><br />Last year in the New Avengers comic, this being called The Collective, containing all the Mutant energies from all the mutants that lost their powers during the House of M event (apparently all but about 200 mutants), came to earth in Canada and started moving very quickly towards the United States.  While he was moving through Canada Alpha Flight mobilized to stop him, and in a VERY cool 2 page spread they told him to stop.  <br /><br />On the next panel, they were all dead.  They were killed OFF-PANEL, without even the courtesy of showing their final battle (which I think probably just consisted of them getting quickly killed).  <br /><br />It turned out Sasquatch actually survived (the sole survivor), and in the first issue of Omega Flight (the new "Alpha Flight" comic with almost all non-Canadian members), Sasquatch was asked to put together the new team to stop U.S. criminals that were coming into Canada after the Marvel Civil War.  He asked The Collective (the guy that killed Alpha Flight) to join but was turned down by Shaman's daughter Talisman (who I believe eventually joins the team as the sole Canadian).  He then fights the Wrecking Crew who apparently quite brutally kill him.  <br /><br />No respect, I tell you!!<br /><br />

<br /><br />You know, Stu, if we're going to tie treasure tokens into comic books - I want the Mjolnir Token and Captain America's Shield Token!  <br /><br />Or how cool would making tokens after public domain items be?  I want Excalibur! 

Thor's hammer would be good for a Cleric!!!<br /><br />As for blades...there is the elven mind sword from Hawk the Slayer OR even better Elric's Soul Stealer!

For armor either Iron Man (including variants) or Dr. Doom's armor would be a good choice.  I agree Elric's Sword would rock!
