<br /><br />A little. Honestly, most Canadians I know (and I know quite a few, I'll admit) felt the comic book wasn't very good at trying to be Canadian. Canada is pretty weird about their national identity. Whether we like it or not, it can be pretty much summed up as "We're Canadian - not American!" rather than actually identifying with anything Canadian - like the landscape or the frozen north or the culture proper.<br /><br />Wolverine is way more popular as a Canadian character than any of Alpha Flight ever were. His attitude isn't "I'm Canadian", it's "I'll rip your throat out if you call me American".<br /><br />

What would be interesting is if Quebec ever achieves independence (though there seems to be less of a drive for that now).  If it does, would some of the maritime provinces prefer to join the US?<br />

(Actually, I've done enough travelling to have a decent sense of identity as a Canadian, not just an un-American. <br />I can even say cool stuff like, "Would you pass me a serviette? I've spilled some poutine on my toque?")<br /><br />And if I'm gonna claim cultural identity as something cool, I like to go with my Dutch roots. Yay for the Dutch. Who else expands their own country by dumping the water back into the ocean?

I was born in North Dakota... so I'm practically Canadian.  ;/<br /><br />Well, maybe noot, boot I've been there countless times. My family owns a cabin on beautiful, Lake Metigoshe up in da Turtle "Mountains" der. Dats over near Peace Gardens now. The nort side of the bay was Canada, so every time we'd go water skiing I wout cross ov'r inta Canada don'tcha know.<br /><br />MMMmmm, what I wout give for a few boxes of dat dere Macintosh's Toffee.<br /><br />(Raven, if I haven't completely offended you with my pour attempt at a bad joke... how ya feel about the import business?  :cool:)<br /><br />Oh, and Gary...
