Yeah, i thought this was a great episode of The Mandalorian and better than any episode thus far of The Book of Boba Fett. I'm not saying TBoBB is bad, because it's not, but it sort of pales in comparison. Just my opinion.

Seriously, the ship is great for "catch up to the bounty I'm chasing" or "escape the cops", not so good for "transport one or more live bounties after capture"

Maybe he'll stick to bounties where a severed head is preferred to a live prisoner

Anyone else amused that the spear had to get melted down because beskar is supposed to be used for armor and not weapons? Wait, didn't we also just find out that the Darksaber is also made out of beskar? Shouldn't it get melted down also? ;)

Man, I forgot how much I liked the music in the Mandalorian compared to BoBF. And while Tattooine is a fine setting, having nothing but Tattooine gets boring without the occasional interruption or a scene in space, or on a space station, or anywhere else that isn't covered in sand.

I am pretty sure the astromech is supposed to calculate the jumps and keep the ship repaired, so losing that seems weird. I am guessing we will get a shot of Grogu riding in there eventually?

Not all ships though need an astromech for making the calculation for jumps (see Millennium Falcon). I thought Peli said something about putting something else in instead, but I could be mistaken. I do want to rewatch this one at some point. Though I do agree it is a good size for Grogu, even an adult sized Grogu would fit.

I'd assume the Flacon has an onboard computer capable of doing the calculations. While the N-1 looks sweet, and pretty much like an old school hotrod, it is all kinds of inconvenient for a bounty hunter.

Ohhh I agree and metioned that several posts back.

Falcon does have on board nav computer. It used to be L3-37 if you saw Solo.... My point was though that I thought (perhaps mistakenly) that Peli said she installed something to replace the astromech so he wouldn't need one because of his previous dislike of droids. That seems to have melted away by the end of the episode.

From what I recall of the lore, using astromechs for jump calculations was primarily limited to fighter craft. Larger ships generally had a navicomputer built in. I don't recall the "why" for this though.

Maybe so we'd have a reason to have R2D2 on the X-Wing with Luke. :)

Her explanation comes in the 39th minute, and she says that she 'hogged it out'. I have no idea what that means, other than she removed it, or subbed it out for different parts? Side note, is the combustion booster he buys from the Jawas the same thing as one of the parts Luke used to try and slow down the trash compactor on the Death Star?
