Previous post didn’t seem to like the link and pic, so adding the pic here, I hope.

ETA: Nope, file isn't in the right format. Sigh. Anyway, this article has a chart of the type I mentioned. The vaccines aren't perfect, but they greatly increase your odds of beating Covid.

Does anyone know of any published statistical analysis of the Covid breakthrough cases? Are they primarily one demographic, or region, or type. Are they related to length of time from initial vaccination? I wondered if the discussion about an eight month booster was related to this.
I haven't seen any analysis yet, and wondered if it was out there somewhere.

But my mom says no cause one of her doctors says there is a chemical in the vaccine that is harmful to your body and changes it dna, people with the vaccine are still getting the virus and every few months there is a possibility of another booster shot.

If you want it, next time you see your doctor ask them very specifically about getting it. If you’re not 18, keep asking. If you’re 18, they have to listen. Keep wearing a mask and washing your hands, all ages can do that, I will pray for you. If I could do more I would.

Here's the best that I was able to find. There's not a ton of data about what kinds of people make up breakthrough cases, but the TL;DR of this article and the statistics therein are that if you're vaccinated you're much, much less likely to be so serious that you get hospitalized and much, much less likely to die.

GC has a way of messing things up. they would not take a stand on vaccines. If they would have made them mandatory Like GHC, I might have gone.

alas, GHC is where I am focused. Everyone 12 and older will be vaccinated and we may or may not be required to wear masks(the city and county are requiring it right now)

I am guessing the surveys they put out showed them too many people weren't happy with the idea of a mandatory vaccination. I fully support the idea that they should have done so, though. I am planning on masking up for GHC as well.

Vaccinated doesn't mean Covid free, though. Masks are the next best thing to protect the most people.

Registration open is when requiring vaccines is viable. At this point masking unless the city/state requires vaccines is the most Gencon is going to do.

At this point only the J&J can fully vaccinate in time, and my math might be wrong with that one too.

Thats kind of what prompted my question about breakthrough cases. Since they are talking booster after eight months, if that is who comprise the cases, then those fully vaccinated before March are vulnerable. They may not "count" as fully vaccinated. However, if the cases are those with weakened immune systems, due to age, therapy or other condition, then the booster can help build up their immunity. If the cases are tied to new variants, then the booster should be a different formulation to address them like Flu vaccines.

I just wonder what we are facing this Fall and Winter.

Well since Pfizer is now authorized by the FDA, you may see a change in the vaccine requirement.
