To me traveling to the midwest is safer despite Indiana University folks fighting any restrictions.

Didn't Texas governor Abbott come down with Covid recently? I'm still getting caught up on news today.

At this point i'm expecting masks to be the rule not exception at any con going forward this year. I'm more or less in the committed to Gen Con unless Gen Con itself cancels and i suspect i'm not the only one.
We're all the kind of people who enjoy the game on a "meta" level. We like talking about the game year-round. We buy tokens. We enjoy crafting. We get together during the off-season if we can. We are a very skewed demographic that way. -Raven

Announced today he has it.

But figure if he is still alive, he'll fight tooth and nail to prevent vaccine and mask usage. Be interesting to see how Pax South tries to handle it.

Yrah I saw that announcement too that he has contacted covid even with full vaccination. All in one report he says I have it but am full vaccinated.....do what you want with that info as to wether it is to get vaccinated or it doesnt really work to stop it.

It may be worth noting Abbott is getting the extremely expensive, from what I understand, monoclonal antibody treatment. Not just anyone can manage to get that kind of treatment, so they may not fair as well as Abbott. The plus side for him, though, is that being vaccinated already dramatically reduces the chance of serious illness.

Is that the treatment DeSantis is touting as to his solution along with the one Janna Ryan bought stock in over a year ago?

It seems like you're not presenting an opinion here, but I will.

There is considerable evidence that those with the vaccine are much less likely to require hospitalization, and markedly less likely to require intubation or to die.

Do with that what you will.

Wasn't trying to add my opinion because it doesn't matter in the overall discussion...just adding what I saw of the press conference.

That's what I was saying. I liked that. Here's some information. That's all.

Well done.

Yeah, I live in Texas, but I've been maintaining isolation pretty well and see no reason to break that habit yet.

Same here. We found out quickly that going INTO lockdown was very easy. Coming out is VERY hard. We are totally not ready to be out in any sort of crowd. We see the packed restaurants, or lines, all the people jammed on the ferry boats and just say "Too soon".
GenCon and TD's announced presence there made a huge dilemma. I can't imagine missing TD, but any sort of crowd is just too much. I thought I could get used to the idea of just being around ten folks in the coaching room.
So, we are happy with our curbside take out, online ordering and Friday-Saturday DVD movie nights for now.

Other than the game conventions, I don't miss any of it.

Prior.to.their retraction I assume.
