TOPIC: Let’s talk Falcon and the Winter Soldier - SPOILERS

John Walker went darker than I'd hoped for, I'm not sure if he can come back from that. I'm very interested in what his status is at the end of this series. I hope he doesn't go full-on villain. I'm interested in who has the shield at the end of the series, and if they are calling themselves Captain America.

When The Falcon and the Winter Soldier first began airing in mid-March, showrunner and writer Malcolm Spellman teased a special cameo in episode 5, which he’s building up to be quite a doozy.

“Hands down, [episode] five, it just gets real,” Spellman had said in an interview with ComicBook.com in March. “And five, you’re going to cry.”

So what of this cameo? Fans have already begun speculating that this Marvel character will be one of the beloved heroes of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, come to reunite with their fellow Avengers. But in an interview with Rotten Tomatoes, Spellman had shut down the possibility that it would be an Avenger that we had previously met in the MCU (so you can toss aside your hopes of a Black Panther or a Black Widow character popping up). Instead Spellman described this episode 5 cameo as a “grounded character” who would make a nice contrast to “world-shakers” like Thor or Captain America. Spellman said:

“There are characters in our series who I would love to see partnered with like — it’s a very, very grounded character — partnered with one of the big world-shakers like Thor or someone like that. The personality is so strong, it’s the episode five character. I’d love to see that character with Thor.”

/Film can confirm that this surprise character is not one that we’ve seen in the MCU before and not one who is primed to appear in an upcoming film. However, we have learned it is an existing Marvel Comics character who is played by a well-known performer. And this guest star must have knocked it out of the park for Spellman to hype up this upcoming episode so much.

John Walker is like a walking example of impostor syndrome. He really got pushed over the edge - well, he got pushed, and i think he was close to the edge already.

Karli didn't kill (Fake) Captain America, but she pretty much succeeded in destroying him.

So how many flag smashers are left? Two have been killed so far.

Makes sense that the Dora Milaje would know how to deactivate Bucky's arm, but I don't think they would have beaten him if he hadn't been holding back.

Did they ever say whether or not Zemo was blipped?
I am predicting now that we will not see or meet the Power Broker, that he will remain in the background.

I was reading up on the serum in the MCU and in retrospect it seems odd that whomever decided Walker was the new Cap didn't have some version of it on hand to give him. Even after Erksine was gone Howard had something workable in "91, and the government apparently had enough lying around for let Banner play with it and oopsed himself into the Hulk, then they injected Blonsky with it to fight the Hulk.
All they gave Walker was the shield and a uniform.

so a marvel character, who has not been in a MCU movie...so any x-men, deadpool, punisher, Jessica Jones,

my guess Chris Evans...as Johnny Storm...nice cross over and would give some great double takes

One of the podcasters said that the end scene with Walker murdering the flag smasher reminded him of Derek Chauvin. Not sure if that was deliberate on Marvel’s part (or even possible with regards to timing), but I can see some significant parallels.

I know in the comics, after his parents were murdered, Walker took bloody revenge. But I don’t recall if he was in the uniform at the time.
