TOPIC: USPS follies

Credit where credit is due: the transmute package we sent to TDHQ on Wednesday afternoon arrived this afternoon (Friday). I know the delivery is real because TDHQ has sent the shipping notice for the return package! The estimated delivery date for our package was Monday, but USPS got it there much faster. I know I won't always get this lucky, but it's nice to know our original shipment isn't wandering all over Illinois this weekend.

ETA: TDHQ and USPS did a great job with the return package too. The shipment did go out Friday night, and it arrived today! Estimated delivery was tomorrow, but the package hit the Chicago distribution centers over the weekend, so I knew there was a chance it would come today. And it did. In the end, I received the return package on the day USPS originally estimated that the outbound shipment would get to TDHQ.

I see a shipping label was created in Carbondale. Let the anticipation begin.

Congrats. Mine is still sitting in the label created status.

And a package is born. It's no longer just a label. It has been tagged and handed off to the post office this afternoon. Expected delivery is Monday, but if it can just manage to squeak by St. Louis, there's a chance I could see it on Saturday.

Maybe I just didn't notice it previous months, but the faint pirate themed ink stamp on the light brown treasure bag amuses me. Love the fun little details TD works in all over the place.

Out for Delivery!

If only my package could talk. It disappeared into the St. Louis vortex at 12:25am yesterday. At 1:32am this morning it just magically appeared in my local distribution center. The next update at 6:11am is "Out for Delivery". In about 5-6 hours it will hopefully be in my hands. Rain is predicted for most of the day, but I'll still be curbside waiting for this one. A perfect day to sit inside and sort tokens. But then that's actually a good activity for every day.

I should wait until the package is here, but have to give some credit to USPS. They may have stopped most of the scans, but the last package that didn't get here in two business days was back in V4b.

My package got to my city yesterday at 3 something a.m., and has shown no activity since. It still says expected delivery today, but I am having my doubts.

Sorry to hear that. Knowing it's so close, but can't seem to make that final jump is frustrating.

Mine got here at 4 am, and says out for delivery.

I'm hopeful for noontime!
