I see that they have already capped the bonus treasure items - so far it seems the Unicorn Charms grant bonus pins, and they don't stack.

Not gonna lie, I considered the artifact level pledge just because of how artifacts worked in TD, but IMO it’s to much money to gamble on a system that’s still so nebulously defined/has only been run twice when there are token 2020 token orders to take care of first

Artifact does seem high until I remember what I have spent on tokens..lol. Need to see if Fiddy wants to do thirdsie with me....lol.

If you go in with two other people, you can each get an artifact for $333 each. That's a bargain - I'm really considering it, and I've never played the game before. :)

That bundle in general seems super conducive to splitting three ways- three major artifacts, three rare arcane AND three of every charm? It was made to be shared with friends. XD

what artifact would we build? I would think something like
Dark Pact
Slotless – so it won’t get in the way.
Holder always get Max treasure +1 - so it doesn’t get lapped while the rules are in flux
You are always considered to have scored a perfect score – Since as I understand it your score limits your treasure choices.
This item is transferable - So you can pass it along when your done.

Start at Max Treasure +5 and let them negotiate you down. :)

I think I need to avoid this game, I don't need another money sink. True Dungeon, comics, and Magic the Gathering are enough. ;)

See what you need is a good time sink to balance them out. Might I recommend a good MMO, or perhaps drugs, I hear they are cheaper ;)

I've found that my money sinks double as time sinks. ;)

It was fun to play at GHC. It was especially fun because Raven and two of my Blue Brothers were with me. But I'm not sold enough to invest in the Kickstarter. I'm more than happy to earn pins by playing at the next con... which I will be doing as it was a nice change-up.

I've never played and I bought the unicorn pin at GHC.

At this point it doesn't look like the Kickstarter is going to be funded. Wouldn't it be better for anyone interested to wait for them to relaunch the project and either:

a) Lower the goal required to fund the project.

b) Maybe lower the pledge levels.

It'd be somewhat amusing if TD players wound up getting them the other half of their Kickstarter goal. :)

Their goal really isn't that high, I'd be surprised to see them lower it. They're trying to get some more of their pins printed up as well as improve their props. $10k doesn't go that far, especially after Kickstarter takes out their fees.

Lowering the pledge levels seems like it would just eat into the money they could put into the game. I could see them altering them slightly though.

I kinda wonder how much of that was nostalgia for the early days of TD

That is definitely what Raven said. Since I didn't play in the early days it was not that for me. It was more TD with different combat. Not as good props and cost less. As I said before it will not be cutting into my TD because I try not to repeat dungeons too much and I will cutting a run from Gen Con. It just gives more things to do at cons.

What cons is it expecting to be at?
