There's +1 weapons and armor. Those are like $20? Then there's some special armor stuff and then a tier of $40 pins that's like... +treasure at the end of a run, free healing, or changing rolls.

When my group finished the adventure, we got to each pick any pin except the free healing/roll changer charms, because of the completion score we had.

+1 to STR?

+1 to hit
+1 to ac
1 extra treasure token pin ;)
Reroll 1s

I think the Kickstarter runs another day or two. They had images of the pins on there

Is it wrong that I'm tempted to buy the Relic (Relic & Artifact seem interchangeable) Level Kickstarter? And that the Relic/Artifact would involve lots of extra loot for me and two friends? ;)

I see that they have already capped the bonus treasure items - so far it seems the Unicorn Charms grant bonus pins, and they don't stack.

Not gonna lie, I considered the artifact level pledge just because of how artifacts worked in TD, but IMO it’s to much money to gamble on a system that’s still so nebulously defined/has only been run twice when there are token 2020 token orders to take care of first

Same here. I also think I would be more inclined to fund them more if they had already met their fundraising threshold and we were just running up the score for stretch goals.

If you go in with two other people, you can each get an artifact for $333 each. That's a bargain - I'm really considering it, and I've never played the game before. :)

Over all I feel like the pin cost felt high. I think one of the things TD does better is provide a path to the madness. I remember hearing what people spent on token builds when I started playing TD in 2011 and thinking “Man there is no way I would spend hundreds of dollars on tokens, that’s nuts.” But I was happy to make some trades out of my starter/treasure draws and at least get a common set of gear (armor, rings/necklace, weapon (there were less slots back then)). This stage was basically free.
Then I got to thinking there are a few generically useful rares that I could have for a couple bucks each that are useful for all classes (ogre power, +2 saves cloak, +1 saves ioun, etc). Then “Hey I can almost play any class, I should just grab some heavy armor/fighter only weapon/etc”. You can see where this is going. TE’s come next if you’re only going to have 1 UR, then if you have 1, why not a few more. My wife teases me about it frequently.
My point is we balked at $20-$40 pins after not batting an eye at multiple $100 poker chips. The water may have started a little too hot. A few throw away common pins would have helped bridge the gap.

I also wonder if they might not be better off combining the enamel pins idea with the item cards and just making cheaper text based pins similar to our survivor pins. I should probably just post this in the RpEx playtest facebook group.

what artifact would we build? I would think something like
Dark Pact
Slotless – so it won’t get in the way.
Holder always get Max treasure +1 - so it doesn’t get lapped while the rules are in flux
You are always considered to have scored a perfect score – Since as I understand it your score limits your treasure choices.
This item is transferable - So you can pass it along when your done.
