Hey all,
James (my Significant Other) is taking on a challenge to walk 100 km, raising funds for Doctors Without Borders.
Doctors Without Borders
(also known as MSF - Medecins Sans Frontieres) is an international medical relief organization, which brings Doctors, Nurses, Surgeons, and other medical personnel into areas of conflict / poverty / disaster, to get medical care to people who might not be able to access it otherwise.
Many people around the world don't have easy access to medical care. Not just that it's too expensive, or that the doctors aren't sufficiently qualified, but that they may have to travel over 100 km just to get to the nearest clinic. This is a significant barrier to health care, especially for people whose illness might make walking difficult or impossible.
By taking on the challenge of walking 100km by Oct 15, we hope to raise awareness and funds for Doctors Without Borders, so they can bring medical personnel into more areas of need.
The True Dungeon crew is an amazing group of people - I know many of you support charities already, or do walks / runs / fund raising for your own - and those who don't probably
do know what it's like to put in a crazy amount of walking in a day (especially with TD's recent move to Lucas Oil!) I ask you to consider donating to this cause even if it's only a few dollars. We're trying to raise $1000 - but that's in CDN funds! - so if any of my awesome States-side friends want to donate $20, it'll actually bring us $26 dollars closer to our goal
