How do you like Seafall?

We've had a lot of fun with Seafall, but we've only played the intro and one game so far. Second game is scheduled to be next Sunday. We haven't opened the first expansion chest yet, but we are enjoying customizing our game board, ships, and captains.

Nice... I've got a copy ordered. I've been hearing mixed reviews, but thought it sounded like a lot of fun.

Second game of Seafall today - went from first to worst! It was fairly close, though, and I made a mistake or two due to a rules understanding, but we are still really enjoying it!

Also played Scythe again - great game! Really glad I got the KS version. I'm upgrading a couple components with stuff from Meeple Source. I played Polania this time, and ended up second by one measly point!

For anyone close to Indy, the WYC folks host a fundraising game event on the 13th of November. Open gaming from 9 am to 9 pm, same hotel in which WYC is held. They have auctions for neat stuff as well :)

So in Russian Railroads we call the extra workers Boris and Natasha. In German Railroads they are Hans and Frans. Who should they be for American Railroads?

So far my fave suggestion from when I posted on BGG are Homer & Marge, George & Martha, Dick & Jane, Abbott & Costello, and one I really like, Casey and John (Or John and Casey).

Thoughts?

Dick and Jane are probably the most iconic american names.

I personally like Marge and Homer the best.

In Rail terms John and Casey are the most iconic names.
D&D teaches all the important lessons in life - the low blow, the cheap shot, the back stab, the double cross. - Jerry Marsischky

Let them trap us. We have our swords. - Elric of Melnibone.

You try to get them to play the game, but all they want to do is play the rules. - Ardak Kumerian

I do not love the bright sword for its sharpness, nor the arrow for its swiftness, nor the warrior for his glory. I love only that which they defend - Faramir

For anyone interested in Kingdom Death, there's a Kickstarter for it starting tonight at 12:01am est.

The game's creator said the Kickstarter will be to fund a new print run for the game. Also there should be lots of other stuff. But most details about the KS are being kept secret till it launches.

If I wasn't so crazy busy, this is the game I'd be playing. I've got three campaigns on pause right now. Love the game. My first group campaign TPK'd on the prologue 2 times, the Lion kept running off with players and mauling them to death in a corner. And one guy got his head blown up all 3 times.

I haven't heard of this game - sounds deadly!

My two preferred gaming types are dice chucking (RPGs) and card flopping (CCGs - customizable card games).

Best home RPG campaigns:
1. Conan d20
2. Feng Shui
3. Legend of the Five Rings

Also play Heroes of Rokugan, the living campaign for L5R, extensively. HoR4 just started a month ago.

Most invested CCGs:
1. Vampire: The Eternal Struggle (most played)
2. Shadowfist (most played currently)
3. Ultimate Combat! (favorite!! to play)
4. Babylon 5 (on design team when license was revoked)
5. Wheel of Time (in game credits as of one of the expansions)
6. Type P Magic (almost entirely regional format)

Rarely play any Magic outside of Type P, anymore. Yes, that is four out of print CCGs, yet I still have all of my cards.

In recent years, I've been reminded how much I enjoy mahjong, something I only played frequently when I was growing up. I'll play all sorts of things - running Rio Grande board game event at next local convention, for instance ... Cardcassone, not to be confused with Carcassone, is one I like demoing at the con the most.

I feel compelled to note that I added a sig in case anyone is interested in our currently live Traveller Card Game Kickstarter.

Ian, if you're interested, I have TON of original JYHAD cards, including sealed boxes. :)

Sure. Can use for any of getting to people who are finding cards hard to find, sealed/draft play, or building a Jyhad cube.

Question becomes how feasible is shipping the stuff? Is there any way that picking it up at Gen Con would make any sense or is that just more complicated for little gain?

Or, maybe it makes more sense for me to find someone closer to you who could take them off your hands. I'll try to look into this, though may not get to it for a while.
