I don't know about play but as a indentured servant to a flgs and active playtester for a few companies i've been subjected to more than my share of games over the years.

Magic, the grease that most stores live on, i sell off and come back more times then i care to count...

Dnd, I actually enjoyed 4th (the mechanics if not the story writing were actually pretty good for anyone of a mini's/boardgame bent).

Agricola and associated euros' always a fun staple.

Recent play included Zombicide Black Plague and expansion's. It's the zombicide for fantasy/non sci-fi geeks. Really good and the one to play if you don't like regular zombicide.
We're all the kind of people who enjoy the game on a "meta" level. We like talking about the game year-round. We buy tokens. We enjoy crafting. We get together during the off-season if we can. We are a very skewed demographic that way. -Raven

I mostly play Ameritrash, but strangely enough my top games are heavy economic ones (eg Splotter games like Food Chain Magnate or Indonesia). I was lucky enough to be part of Richard Launius' weekly group for several years and like most of his games.

Before TD Tavern took so much of my time I used to paint a ton of miniatures. I have Descent and every expansion fully painted, same with Memoir 44, and many others.

I'm playing a Kingdom Death campaign right now.

We buy, sell, and trade True Dungeon tokens. We also have a convenient consignment program where you can sell your own tokens.

LOVE Kingdom Death. Again, don't get to play much as it's too Brutal for some in my Group... "I don't want my character to die."

Really bad when you own almost everything and just see it sitting in the corner *sigh*

I dislike a lot of Ameritrash games (and also a lot of kid games) because they are largely centered around pure luck with minimal strategy.

At that point, you might as well just roll a die - high roller wins!

It's like the difference between Roulette and maybe Blackjack versus something like Texas Hold'em.

Spoken like a true euro gamer!

I like strategy but also enjoy some randomness. I've played too many euro games against people who have spent way more time than me studying strategies online and they just follow their predetermined strategy and win. Not much fun for me. A game like Arkham Horror, for example, reminds me of the saying: No battle plan survives contact with the enemy. You prepare strategically and then react tactically to whatever is thrown out at you.

I desperately want to play Kingdom Death but it's been sold out for what feels like forever.... I feel like that is just the kind of game I would love.

They had em for sale at GenCon, but so expensive. I'm glad I got in on the Kickstarter.

They were sold out by the time I got there. :(

That sucks... I know how you feel. I missed out on quite a few games I was looking for, because I didn't really make it into the dealer hall until Sunday.

Nice! If I was hard-pressed to pick a favorite game it would probably be that. And I didn't even get very far into the show, because it bored me. I love hidden traitor games in general.

I play a pretty good mix of Eurogames and Amerithrash. BGG profile .
Classes Played: Barbarian (65 times), Monk (56), Ranger (33), Rogue (25), Cleric (21), Fighter (13), Druid (12), Paladin (11), Dwarf Fighter (10), Bard (7), Elf Wizard (2), Wizard (2)

I like Battlestar Galactica if I'm a human, but I don't find it enjoyable as a Cylon. "The reveal" can be interesting, but it doesn't feel like there are any interesting decisions for most of the game for Cylon players.

I like most types of board games, though I'm generally not a fan of most hidden role games. I also tend to prefer heavier games, though there are light games that I really enjoy as well. BGG Profile .

Started a campaign of Seafall recently (thanks, Raven!). Won the first game, and we enjoyed it. We look forward to seeing how the game changes over time.
