Commence venting!

Three long weekends a year there is a local gaming con here in LA (hey, why not bring TD to Strategicon? ) I was planning on going this Labor Day weekend. I really enjoy this con b/c I actually get to play games, unlike Comic Con or Gen Con. Turns out my better half made plans to go wine-tasting with another couple this weekend and wanted me to go. After being away for SDCC and GC, I got the impression that it was in my best interest to go with them. Well, here I am in wine country, bored out of my mind as they drink wine, buy wine, and speak in some foreign-sounding language about wine - I don't drink, so I get to sit around until they need me to drive somewhere. Ugh.

This is certainly a "first world problem" - my missing a weekend of games and being bored doesn't compare to losing a loved one or not having enough to eat or something like that. I just had to whine a little.

Thank you for your patience.

I can relate. I don't drink anymore. It sounds miserable.

It's a shame your SO doesn't seem to understand that you're going through exactly what your spouse avoids by not joining you at GenCon.

I feel like a jerk for feeling bad - a beautiful woman I love wants me to spend time with her as she does something she loves. THat's something!

Thanks for posting that, I hadn't seen it. I'll be thinking that when I have my not-so-important problems in the future. I think all of our token issues are First World Problems. ;)

Well - look on the bright side - I think we're pretty much exactly 1 year past the 2016 token announcements.

Maybe new tokens to review soon ;).

Day 2 of No Games Plus Watching Other People Drink Wine is over. Tomorrow we drive back to LA, then back to school on Tuesday. Ugh. :(

Cool!
Would love to hear what you think of it (without spoliers - if there's any of those game-changing spoilers which some Legacy games have)

I was at a board game convention this weekend, and a bunch of my friends were talking about whether we should pick up SeaFall, but are a bit leery of spending that kind of money on an unknown.

It was really cool. My friends and I liked it. We only played the prologue, which helps teach the game and makes some basic changes to help the board develop.
