TOPIC: Meet at the Inn

Barkley dismounts. "It is written, 'those who speak do not know, and those who know do not speak'. I wonder which we shall find inside..."

"Perhaps one of us should keep an eye on the horses. I doubt we need to worry about anyone following us - who could see us though this mist?"

Breon dismounts, keeping an eye on the juggler as he checks to make sure he has his valuables with him. He then follows Cram into the tavern.

Dismounting, Kryndal says, "I am decidedly... parched..." And enters the tavern, as well.

Your group dismounts and ties their horses in the empty streets before stepping into the tavern. As you pass under the buildings sign you note it originally read, "Blood of the Vine," but has since had the "F" scratched over with a crudely drawn "N." Stepping inside you look around the room attracting a few panicked glances from the patrons who quickly return to their business when they see you are strangers.

This was clearly once a finely appointed tavern but has the years have not been kind and the room fallen into disrepair. A fire blazes in the hearth but does little to warm the few remaining huddled souls within the drafty room. The silence here is broken only by the occasional sip of watery
wine.

A large man with a thick beard and sad eyes stands behind the bar mindlessly cleaning glasses. Once he would have been called stout but it looks like the year have been less kind to him then the bar. To the left three gypsies share a table by the door and to the right a mysterious figure sits alone in the shadows by the fire.

After looking around the tavern, Cram looks for a table large enough for the party, and takes a seat looking toward the door. He motions for the barkeeper.
Cram looks over to the wizards, and whispers "let me know when to put them out of their misery."

"Peace Cram," I say to the barbarian. "These may very well be individuals who are in need of our help." I turn towards the gypsies by the door and give them a kind smile. "Greetings friends! My companions and I have just arrived in town as I'm sure you can tell. I was wondering would you be kind enough to tell us what has happened here?"

Delmar silently steps close to and slightly to the side of Adeya to guard her, just in case.

"Nothing that concerns you gadje so order a drink or move on" replies the one of the older looking gypsies.

Crestfallen I rejoin the rest of the party. "Well it appears that they do not wish to talk," I tell the group.

"Don't let them get to you" calls a cautious voice from the shadows beside the fire. "come buy us a round and come join me friends" the stranger says gesturing to his table.

Delmar steps forward, "Well hello and our friendship is still yet to be determined. I think we met back at another inn. If I remember correctly you left a sizable amount of gold and then left rather quickly."

"Delmar, you recognize this stranger as the messenger who started us on this journey?"
