A general presence of evil hang over the room and in truth the town, that much you can tell without the aid of magics. However the three men at the door do radiate a particularly dark presence. If it is the vampires work or otherwise you can not tell but these men are without a doubt evil.

What you say of the mists is true master bard.

One of the gypsies, the man you would guess is the leader by his age and bearing seems to perk up a bit at the sight of your fine blade and mumbles something to the other two. Who involuntarily glance down to their own weapons nodding in agreement.

Addressing Barkley but giving Adeya a quick wink, "We love our friends because of their faults not in spite of them. I know some of mine too well and while my attitude is accepted by my friends it can be, how shall we say, misconstrued by strangers."

In a much lower voice, "Be ready for anything. They are tainted by the dark as Pelor has made clear to me."

Breon asks in a low voice, "Do we wish to question these men, or simply leave without their notice? I could cast a sleeping spell upon them."

Grats and that's a lot of posts.

While we have a moment. Quick side bar on how I like to do play-by-post combat since it seems a fight may be forthcoming.

Initiative will be worked out situationally (ie if the party jumps the monsters they go first. After that we alternate players, monsters, players, etc )

To attack someone describe what your doing and follow it up with a roll and a damage number (ie Ismark raises his +1 long sword slashing at the gypsy leader with surprising speed to deliver a wicked looking gash across the mans chest. Roll 18+1 damage 4+1.) Feel free to embellish the details as much or as little as you like.

If the roll is sufficient to hit the monster takes damage and I'll tell you when they fall, if not wound is deemed superficial but we still get the cool description of battle.

Once everyone has had a chance to attack or a reasonable amount of time has passed (usually a couple hours) the monsters will attack back until combat is resolved.

Everyone is on the honor system for their rolls/damage/hps you can assume success on all knowledge checks for the purpose of bonus spell damage of healing.

OOC - If someone is AFK for a while, shall we consider them inactive in combat, or could someone else, if they notice someone inactive for the entire combat, say something like the wizard casts a spell?

OOC- If someone isn't here for part of it their needed for they'll be npced for the needed action but for the most part I don't think it will be an issue.

Kryndal takes a quick drink from a silver flask. "Ah, Dwarven Doppelbock. It cures what ales ya..." he says with a grin.

He stands up, but not before he subtly loosens his twin swords in their scabbards. "Shall we be off, then?"

He heads for the door, after leaving a few silver coins on the table.

Delmar follows while keeping a hand on his axe. Loud enough for the men at the door to hear, "Kryndal, did I ever tell you about the Stone Giant I slew with this axe? Took me a week to get the chips out of the blade. The spike worked wonders on him however. Usually I just use it to disembowel my enemies but on the giant it worked like a pickaxe"

The men at the door watch you leave but make no effort to stop you.
