If the party is with me, I go ahead and suggest we make the wish to rebuild and craft the sword with all its components here in Sergei's crypt. Otherwise we can save the wish and start looking for the hidden parts of the sword. I'm guessing the blade is here with Sergei, but the pieces from Findaway's crypt didn't match up exactly, so we need to find the correct pieces.

"That seems like an acceptable use of the wish to me," I say. "I don't think we'll be able to defeat Strahd without the sword."

Maybe the sword will allow me to keep a hold of myself. I certainly hope so. It would be very very bad if Strahd had control of me and I also had the sword.

The blade is non descript at best, you have trouble believing it could have ever held magic but even so you inspect the blade with the aid the scroll and manage with some effort to detect the faintest glimmer of a remaining demure at its base. It almost appears as if some great force snapped the blade free of its hilt and allowed the magic to pour out. You have no idea why or how someone would have gone about accomplishing something like this.

"I hope we are on the right path. This sword was severely damaged by a fearsome power. Breon--Adeya, if you choose, I suggest you craft a wish to reassemble and energize the sun sword of which Delmar speaks and Strahd fears, here in Sergei's crypt so we may honor the deceased brother and his benefactor Pelor."

"Take care with the words you use and utter that we be not frustrated in our attempt to obtain the sword we need to defeat the evil in the land."

"Is everyone in agreement we use the wish?"

"We must use the 'wish' if we wish to destroy the Lord." Cram speaks slowly. "I tire of these crypts, and wish to face him in a true battle, not one of his minions can stop our combined might."

"I agree, Cram. The Raven put to rest the minions that were here. Now I wager we could best him with our own strength, but I believe the sword will give us the advantage we need to not only best Strahd and anything else he can muster to aid him, but also to have a chance against his master, and end the evil in this land.

Breon ... Adeya, craft the wish or give me the scroll and I will do my best with my power that is but a shadow of yours."

*Sorry, Widseth - I am currently in jolly oil' England on vacation, so I have been less consistent in access to the forum lately. I pop back across the pond tomorrow, so we can work on the wording of the wish.*

I begin to pace in the alcove of Sergei's crypt, muttering under my breath. Agitated I slash at the air with my sword. I begin to sing a strident ballad in an ancient language. The anger in the words of the ballad reflect a grim and hardening demeanor.

Sword drawn, my lute begins to play by itself. My dancing sword sparkles in the dim light gathering and reflecting all sources of light.

The party hears ragged snatches of my muttering.

"oppressive darkness...end life...rid evil...find him"

I leave the alcove and head straight for the stairs where we saw Strahd leave before the destruction of his minions.

"Now, that's the spirit, Widseth!" Cram hurries after his melodic friend.

Barkley snaps from his meditations.

"My son, I'm not so sure that was our good friend - at least, not completely... Regardless, let us not let Widseth get too far ahead of us," as he sprints after them.
