Dave Ralph has some pretty decent stuff. He has a two disk compilation of remixes called Tranceport II that I really love. Project Pitchfork is a German duo that creates some really cool, but dark music with very profound lyrics. Daimonion is one of their better albums.

Man, am I coming across as a Goth at heart, or what?

My wife paints to these guys as well as Joe Satriani. PP is also one of my nine year old son's favorites as well :O. It is a good thing he doesn't yet understand most of the lyrics.

I guess I have rapped up the award for Goth thinking, most responsible parent of year ;/

Dave

Just personally it matters on what's going on...

If I have to code quickly:

Flogging Molly - "Salty Dog" especially (best pirate song ever)
The Pogues
The Tossers
Black Flag
Fugazi
Gogol Bordello (Gypsy punk music... can't beat that)
Sepultura (especially the "Arise" album)
Suicidal Tendencies (like BF, and Fugazi above, sometimes you just need a little
old school thrash/punk to get you through)

If it's a more relexed/serene job:

Damien Rice
Rufus Wainwright
Los Lobos
Modest Mouse

Just to name a few groups that I think are great listens...
If you like Yngwie Malmsteen, try Joe Satriani or Steve Vai. I have many albums by all three and I like Joe the best. For a more jazz/classical/rock fusion there is always the original Alan Holdsworth.

For other jazz fusion, Alan often plays with Bill Bruford and/or Steve Morse.

I think I remember you mentioning Spanish influenced music. There is an album called "Passion Grace and Fire" by Al DiMeola, Paco DeLucia, and John McLaughlin that is essentially three acoustic guitar masters sitting on stage jamming together. Al and John also have quite a bit of jazz fusion stuff.

All these artists were study and chill out music for me in College.

The techno/industrial stuff came later.

Dave

The "Mortal Kombat" motion picture soundtracks (there are several of them) are a good way to sample various artists in the techno/industrial genre. I thoroughly enjoy them.

Thanks for the suggestions.
Yeah, Ottmar Liebert is flamenco guitar. I enjoy it, have a few cds of his. Will have to check out those other guys you suggested. :)

And will look at the MK soundtrack, I have song from it already 'It Has Begun' by moby.
Soundtracks can be a great way to have a sampling of different artist, or some interesting remixes.
Like I have never gonna come back from Gone in 60 seconds, couple tracks from Grosse Point Blank, a track from Austin Powers, the sound track for French Kiss, Hackers, Hackers 2, 2 Disk Phantom of the Opera, A track from Run Lola Run, a track from scooby doo, a track from shrek, a track from Swordfish, couple tracks from the 5th element, The Matrix soundtrack, Princess Bride, a track from the wild thorneberries, a track from the Thomas Crown Affair, the Tomb Raider Soundtrack, a track from Toy Story 2, a couple James bond theme songs, The Saint Theme song, Starwars theme song remixed, got a superman theme song remix, a lost in space remix, and of course Disney stuff too.
Its been a while since I've gotten new music. So besides MK, any good soundtracks y'all would reccommend?
