I have another upset person because my packaging was sliced open and the tokens missing (i blame smak and his postal uniform)...So those were my last ebay auctions...F%$k Ebay..no one is happy. I have never had a problem shipping tokens in those bubble wrap envelopes (most of you have got something from me)
I was told I should have packaged them better..if I did that people would complain about shipping.
I use to only use UPS..got yelled at for that..so goodbye ebay

That is what I use and haven't had any issues.( The bubble envelopes that is)

You are still doing the Agilent stuff right? I have no other tungsten light hook-ups. Sorry eBay went awry.

Sucks to hear about those experiences, Laz - both with eBay itself, and unsatisfied customers.

I almost always use the bubble-wrap packages, myself. I will admit that - like Smak - I tend to put the tokens inside further wrappings or envelopes, so they are less likely to be mistaken for someone sending money (Silver dollars?) thru the mail... but I have had tokens go missing in transit, too. A full set of ingredients & completion token from one year's dungeon, in fact. Grrrr.

I still send tokens in the mail, but only things that can be replaced if the worst happens. For most other things, I arrange to trade off in person, at Gen-Con. (It also gets around the annoying Customs fees when crossing the border, that way ; )

I have never had a problem with USPS until about a month ago. 2000 gp didn't show up at the person's doorstep yet. Luckily we managed to salvage the trade through another deal. Now I send my URs and gold with confirmation or insurance.

I did do confirmation...I use the bubble/padded envelopes. The problem is the envelope was sliced open (by machine, smak..because he has a postal uniform.. or a different person)..the envelope still arrived. If I would not have had delivery confirmation, it would not have (that is obvious)

Because I am a nice guy, I am digging through my collection to see if I can replace these (even though not my fault or the person that bought them).
I use to use UPS all the time (but was chewed out and bad shipping ratings because I charged more for this, yet I never had a ups problem)

So if I would ever go back to ebay, expect higher shipping prices. I doubt I will do that since the ebay (10%) fees now include shipping costs as well

Laz, I'm not sure, but I think if you sell through Ebay and get paid through Paypal, you may be covered for losses of up to $150 through Paypal and/or Ebay.

I had a +1 Bracers of Defense I traded for (one of my first trades) broken in half on it's way to me. I think I still have that broken token in our party binder, one of our party members is using it :)

I agree with you on ebay with the fees, etc. I have sold some things from time to time and there is one thing that I make perfectly clear. The person receiving the item can purchase insurance. If they do not and anything goes wrong there are no refunds or replacements.

So far I have been lucky enough to not have any issues. Even when I make a trade I insure my sent package for $100 if it is full of rares and $200+ if it has even one UR in it. The minimal cost is more than worth the peace of mind.
You can't fix stupid but you can TPK it.

I think you're not allowed to say insurance is optional anymore. You either have to include insurance in your price or not. I used to always say insurance was optional, and got an email from Ebay saying that was no longer allowed.

Laz, fyi, the tokens I bought from you arrived today in fine shape. On the back of the enveloope it says "Thanks, but I already have lots of these - Smak."
