Yo yo yo! Just got back from running tonight. Was supposed to be a mentor led run, but my mentor Rosalie is feeling under the weather, so I just ran on my own. Easy 45 min run. Started along the beach path, then ran up the road leading from the pier and ran along Ocean Ave. On the way back, I ran on the dirt path next to a fence which runs along a cliff leading down to the beach. Literally a foot from where I was running there was nothing but space - I felt like I was flying as I ran. Very kewl!
Ran 60 minutes this morning. I ran over the race course for next week's Jingle Bell run, my first 10K since starting running again. Hoping to break 55 min! Nice flat course. Tomorrow I run 8 miles with the team. Starting to build up the mileage!

My fundraising broke $2K this week! Thanks to everyone who has donated!

Brian
That's awesome that you've already broken the 2,000 dollar mark!

Kim

Forgot to post yesterday. I ran 8 miles with the Team, just the second time I've gone that far since starting to run again. It was a really fast run - we divide into 6 pace groups, and I am in the fastest group, but some of them were really pushing the pace a bit. I stuck with them for most of the run, falling off a bit at the end. Great workout!

Ran 6 miles last night with my mentor and 5 other teammates. Took little over an hour, starting at a slow, easy pace, then picking up at the end once a few slower people turned around early. Great, fun workout!

If you are thinking of donating, remember it is tax-deductible! 12/31 is just around the corner!

Brian
Did a gym workout with the team last night, but only 4 of us showed up! I warmed up with 1/2 of cardio, then we did weights, stretches, and spinning (won't volunteer for that again! ;/). Tough workout, but I am not as sore as I was after the first gym workout a month ago - either it was an easier workout, or I am getting more in shape!

Remember, if you donate to my website, it benefits the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Plus you get a free Tokenholics Anonymous 2010 t-shirt and a chance of winning an ultra-rare token! Awesome-sauce!
Ran a great race this morning - the Santa Monica/Venice Xmas Run. I did the 10K, then hung around for the 5K to start and walked it with my wife. With walking to and from the race, I did over 10 mi! The best part was the 10K - I had hoped to break 60 min, but ended up running it in 50:24 - hoody hoo! That's a pace of 8:08! I was really happy about that!

Thanks for posting these updates, Brian. I know you don't get replies after each one, but I enjoy reading about your progress. It makes it feel more real, watching (/reading) as you train, and seeing the effort you're putting into this cause.

Go Team in Training!!!

Thanks! I appreciate it!

Today was sort of a rest day - we were scheduled to run 5 miles. Well, the stairs we were going to run up to get over the Pacific Coast Highway were locked, so we had to run an alternate route. Since I was in the lead pace group, we sort of had to find our own way, and ended up running a little more than 6. Good steady pace with one big hill thrown in.

Oh, and I weighed in at Weight Watchers today and hit my goal weight - HOODY HOO!
