Not that I know of. Did I miss an announcement?

I didn’t hear an announcement, I thought I had heard someone mention dual welding which is why I asked. To my knowledge only Monk can dual weird and I think the Asher’s dual vipers are best for them.

Ranger can also dual wield. In both the Monk and Ranger case, using brawlers horn in the offhand melee is very popular, even when equipping Asher’s.

Monk and Ranger can. Different sliding styles.

There is always talk about allowing <<class>> to do so, but there is nothing so far.

They may be about on par, now, but with a constant stream of Dex-enhancers, the Brumel's should outstrip the Io's in a couple of years, and by a LOT, eventually. Brumel's also removes the need to enhance any stat besides Dex, so that you can really min-max a Ranger build in ways that weren't even practical before.

If you take a realistic look at the tokens involved in a max damage build, many slots will still choose +damage tokens instead of DEX tokens while equipping Brumel’s. With the tokens we’ve seen the last few years, it’s not possible to definitively say that DEX tokens will outscale damage tokens in coming years, so we may in fact see the opposite or a continuation of the tokens remaining around an equal power level, especially given the Safehold offerings as is.

I’m not necessarily advocating for a “make the numbers go up” change. I think that a more interesting approach would be a cool ability that gives the bow a significantly different look and feel ala the intent of the class necks. In the absence of something like that, all we can do is furiously math out the damage comparison.

The crits on 19 or 20 for fighters is kinda meh because the neck item already gives that. Maybe make it bypass crit immunity instead?

comments on the other tokens beyond the bow.

Kilgor’s have been commented on by others, so I’ll +1 it could use some work.

As mentioned in the UR thread, a bead expander in Belt is likely too good compared to other options. Perhaps make it a neck, with 3 beads at relic and 4 at legendary? That would compete with class specific necks, but could provide something suitably powerful for people who don’t want to build all the class specific neck items. With currently available beads + the Ranged damage bead, 4 beads at legendary that would give +7 spell damage and a free bead slot for something like +3 con. Alternatively it could give +7 all saves, and +3 str / Dex / con.

Bracers of the inferno are fantastic and a great way to incorporate the reprint of the bracers of fire.

Bead of Horus might be better at 4*, given it’s basically a twist on the UR bead of Focus. Could trade places with lenses of sage sight, which would be probably be fine at 3* given it’s limited to common and uncommon scrolls.

Spirit pet asp have no complaints.

Chalice of chugging is a nice option for a once / game Poly potion or buff potion.

A Kilgor's idea:

Sorry if this has already been mentioned, haven't followed all the token discussion so far this year.

Simulate iterative attacks (without using a puck):
"Beat monster AC by >= 5, monster takes the same weapon damage again (excluding critical damage)"

I don't see how to fit it on a token and it might need some more wording to cover potentially overpowered edge conditions. I think boost damage is already excluded by the boost definition, but there might be other things hiding out there that it wouldn't be good to apply again. Might need a 1/room limitation, though somebody would have to run the math to see just how far legendary fighters are behind right now. Probably needs to not work with Double Strike (or only work on the first target).

Generates more difficult decisions by legendary tier fighters in the coaching room to figure out how much power attack to go with.

Alternatively something like this could show up with 6th level characters if that ends up still being a mythic thing.

Part of the problem with too much of what tokens do being on tokendb.com/ is that not all DMs are familiar enough with the tokens themselves to know what they do. Heck I have great token knowledge and I don’t know everything by heart all the legendary’s and set bonus do. I personally have never coached someone that had crazy tokens and not be using the app. So I understand why DMs get it wrong on high level and oddball tokens so much. That said the more we can keep on the token the better especially on weapons.

Exbalz wrote: Stepping back from just math, I think myself and Utaku are the two biggest advocates for ranged rangers and I think we are split on our feelings about the bow as is. I love the fact that ranged rangers are getting their own (current) capstone weapon. I started playing in 2019 and went out of my way to acquire mats to craft my own Io’s because I wanted my weapon to be my own and not from the secondary market. I would do the same for a Ranger-only bow that gives ranged-focused rangers their own identity in the game and allowed them to be a more reasonable choice vs melee builds. As it stands currently I would not make this bow because it doesn’t do something different enough to make me want to alter the rest of my build and the Ranger only restriction doesn’t give a meaningful increase in power.I would simply stick with Io’s, opt to look for an anointed quiver, and stock up on the new oil and wait for a Mythic bow.

Would just add to this that Io's bow is still going for under $1k. I'm not sure there is going to be a ton of demand for a new legendary bow that isn't that different, and can only be used by a subset of a single class.

+1 to decreasing all belts.

Chalice is slotless? Or off hand?

Is the plan to have weapons for other classes in the coming years?

If we add Bard to the relic, we would have to add Barbarian and Paladin.

Chalice is slotless.

Plan on hitting a good weapon for classes over the next few years.

Relic now equals UR Bow class-wise.

Thanks everyone. All the Beaded Belts are being bumped to a future year. We won't replace it with another UR/Relic/Legendary track. It might be best to wait until next year for anything more.

We should have Contact Sheets up on Monday! Thanks!

I understand why you’re doing it. Still makes me sad, but does give me time to think wether I want it, or my mythic belt. Thank you for your hard work!

Jeff, maybe this would be a good year then to reprint (straight or functional reprint) one of the classic UR/Relic/Legendary tokens? Maybe the Saving Throw Cloaks? Or the Focus Ring? Or maybe a new UR/Relic/Legendary waist slot token. It would be nice to have one "everyone can use it" UR/Relic/Legendary transmute paths in the set, and you have room for it now.
