As to the price for a Charm of Enlightenment, there's currently one on Trents site for $125, and I have one for $150.

I do agree that it just being +4 Will save is a good idea.

UR Cloak of Displacement - tokendb.com/token/cloak-of-displacement/

To streamline the effect and keep things moving the 50/50 chance mechanic could be changed to:

The first potentially successful melee strike directed at the wearer has a 50% chance to miss. The first time the DM succeeds on an attack that would normally hit the wearer, if the DMs roll was an odd number, the attack fails. This item only works once per combat and only during the first potential melee strike aimed at the wearer.

I think it would cause many of the problems the old clock of shadowskin did, especially since with charm of broaching you could use both. The main thing keeping this token from being a dungeon design issue right now is the fact there are so few out there. I didn’t know it existed until reading your post.

I do agree that it just being +4 Will save is a good idea.

Would anyone actually want it at just +4 Will Saves? I think most people that were buying it were buying it for the potential of WIS being used for more than just Will saves.

You may be right. But +4 Will saves seems pretty useful to me. That’s why I picked up a CoE a few years back, before the current price jump.

I've bought, I believe, 8x CoEs over time for various party members between 25 and 50, and have always bought them just for +4 will saves. I've also bought Lucky Charm to squeak in extra will and fort save too, and paid UR prices for it.

My point of comparison is the Ring of Iron Will. It is a Rare that gives +4 Will Saves with no Wisdom increase, and it can be bought for a few dollars. I suspect that a Charm with just +4 Will Saves would also have a value in the $5 and less range, certainly not $99 and up.

I have used the CoE for the WIS bonus for using Mystic Staves for caster classes that I would rather use a magic staff to attack monsters then a shotgun. Its one of the few easier ways to increase the to hit bonus for those right now since DEX does not help them.

Reprinting something similar would be nice since the current CoE is essentially a UR from a cost and rarity standpoint. Maybe a Charm of Minor Enlightenment for a simple +2 WIS to give a new skin to an older token without effecting what is already out there.

The ring is cheap for a few reasons, first it was recently reprinted, second you only get 2 rings but can add another with a slot swapper so there is way more competition for the ring slot. Rings tend to be a stronger slot so it’s weak for a ring. You can have up to 10 charms and will save is the hardest to boost. Charm of Enlightenment was part of a transmute and has had a bunch consumed for that.

The best reason to keep Charm of Enlightenment the same is mystic staffs and that there is so little that boost wisdom currently. Waiting until we get some more wisdom boosters to nerf it would be better than nerfing it right now.
