2023 will be a year to grab a bunch of new TD players as Cons come back. And these 2023 tokens seem geared toward giving those new players something to get excited about with benefits they will notice.

Love Bead of Abundance! Bead slots are something new players will be challenged to fill and doubling their treasure from 3 to 6 is a windfall for them. (Really glad this is in the Bead slot again.)

Lenses of Greater Foesight's +3 to melee is fine as eyes are hotly contested for the melee crowd but not crazy about the +5 to Rogue Sneak which is already a bit broken. Rogues are already wearing Cranston's Helpful Hat so this is also a very easy addition to their build.

Perhaps change it to (Rogue: May SA a second time against same monster 1/game) to give new Rogues a taste of what's available with higher level tokens.

What is the slot contention for eyes for melee? Currently I see Instant analysis or Corsair Eyepatch as the current winners, depending on if you need +hit or + damage. With Foesight you bump the damage +2 over the eyepatch and remove the penalty. I expect most melee types will use Cranston's to combine instant analysis + foesight for +2 melee hit, +3 melee damage (and extra sneak damage), and +2 ranged damage. That said, crown of might is a good alternative to Cranston's if you don't need the ranged damage and are happy to trade 1 melee hit for 1 melee damage.

For top end rogues it works out to +8 damage in the first two rounds of combat and +3 for the remaining rounds.

Consider making the sneak attack buff +5 damage after you successfully sneak attack 1/game or something.

I also think this token would sell just fine at +2 to damage, or +1 to hit and +1 to damage.

3. I do not like that the Shirt of the Shrewd being the only shirt ingredient with a real, guaranteed downside of -1 saves instead of -1 to a single stat which half the time does nothing at all, and the rest of the time causes debuffs that may be largely irrelevant. I would make the debuf here -1 to hit, or -4 hp.

Cross-posting this from the Rares thread. The +5 Dmg bonus to Rogues from the Lenses of Greater Foesight is non-modifiable, even on a Crit with the Nightshade/Viper Strike ability.

Thanks, these look good. Strong for a rare, but it's a wrist slot token and any Rogue equipping a rare in the wrist slot is likely only getting one Sneak Attack per combat anyway. Since they work this way, I wonder if this would be difficult to code in the app and website since it's further damage added after the final attack total including potential crit has been calculated?


There should be no issues with the Rogue bonus, it's non-modifiable damage. I think +3 is too high for the static melee damage bonus though - UR precedent for the eye slot is +2 to hit or +1 to hit and damage.
I play Rogue. Occasionally I even play Rogue well.

Does this 4x Crit for a Dwarf Fighter? That could be... a lot of damage for an Io's Dwarf. I don't know if it's really an issue or not, but pointing it out.


I tweaked the token a bit. Went with to hit rather than damage for Rogue.

How is Ring of Sacred Wrath different from any other retribution item?

Several other retribution items deal typed damage?

Bonuses based on spell level is interesting but just another variable to track for spell casting which is already way complicated.


Several tokens already interact with spell level, including damage modification by spell level, e.g.:
