I really like it on a dagger with stunning, as Raven mentioned, it give us more options. I love the Nightshades, but I want to mix it up. Giving the dagger similar stats to Nightshades would give Rogues a fun choice. I've considered the crossbow, but the assassin's crossbow was just a much better option.

Stunning (even at a low chance) would be a great option for when you can't sneak attack.

I may be in the minority, but all of my melee characters that only hit ranged on a 20 equip the Stunning Lt Crossbow. This is particularly true of my retribution builds that want a low dex and low AC.

If I'm going to need a 20, I may as well get a stun for it, right?


I agree it's a pretty good token too, I keep a copy to throw into any builds which are missing a ranged weapon. It just doesn't seem to see much play in general for some reason (I don't think I've seen any on build lists or in any of the runs I've been on) or have much value as a trade. I wonder if it's because dedicated ranged builds have better weapons available, and melee builds have the option of equipping a mighty or throwing weapon instead.
I play Rogue. Occasionally I even play Rogue well.

Ur missile weapons are in a really strange spot. Top end builds are probably going to use Thor’s or Io’s. Mid range melee builds are almost certain to prioritize Ranged weapon last, so rare + whetstone is fine. Mid range Ranged builds have almost no options in general, so Relic bow or mighty longbow are about the only choices depending how much str you have.

I think the design space of allowing stunning is interesting.

Maybe a weapon that gives -2 to hit (to the player) but allows for a stun?

Perhaps rogues (and fighters?) would not get the -2?

Charm of the Octopus

I would like to see either a cloak or a charm that is a functional reprint of the Cloak of Blending but plays on the ability of an octopus to change color and shape. I think a charm would be more interesting in order to not be a complete reprint, but more interested in the ability being reintroduced rather than the slot.

Bonus points if we can get an Octopus set that incorporates other neat features of the creatures: ink cloud, regeneration, extra arms...

Rogue: When a Rogue Sneak Attacks with a melee weapon (not ranged/thrown attacks) and a Natural 20 is rolled (or Natural 19-20 if using Nightshade's Sword or Dagger ) the Rogue may both Attack and use their Flanking skill on the next round.

This would be great in VTD, but would need another puck in physical for using the flank ability as well as attacking.
I play Rogue. Occasionally I even play Rogue well.
