Otherwise the Druids and Clerics are restricted to just the common Staff. Plus, there really isn't much in the URs otherwise aimed at Druids other than the Focus Bead and Ioun Stone Fluorite Sphere which help all spellcasters. Wizards still would have the +2 Staff of Power to themselves, which can used along with this Staff.

Any reason you left of Bards from your suggestion again?

The exact same reason I gave you last time. ;)

To me, the main three spellcasting classes are Wizards, Cleric, and Druid. The Bard's main strength is Bardsong, with spells being more secondary. It makes sense to me that Bards would be limited to the lower rarity Staffs. That said, I wouldn't be upset at all if the UR Staff were Wizards, Cleric, Druid, and Bard.

I would prefer the staff be Wizard Only as it's a functional reprint of a Wizard only weapon.

If it's opened to any other spellcasting classes I want it opened to ALL other spellcasting classes.

Currently the Bard has ZERO Focus items they can use for a spellcasting bard build. And while this is not a Focus item it would be nice for them to have some spellcaster centric items available to them.

Looking at my recent wiz builds that were not inept at throwing a hammer to see what would happen if replaced with Mage Staff of Power.

One build would gain +1 to hit over Thor's due to 22 INT but lose about 3.5 average damage. Would probably use 1st level spell on Acid Ray for 12 or Burning Hands for 6xN.

Other build would gain no to hit, would lose about 3.5 avg dmg. Would get free Alertness every room.

Lose crits on 19 in both cases. So, inferior as a weapon to Thor's. Does other stuff due to additional spells.

What is the damage loss of sliding the staff vs casting a level 0 spell? *curious*

Like I said, I won't argue if Bards are added to it.

I don't see anything inherently "Wizard" about being able to cast a spell from your character card for free. Personally I always thought the original +2 Staff of Power should have been opened to more than just Wizards. The Ring/Charm of Spell Storing and Crown of Expertise have similar effects and are open to all spellcasting classes. We'll just have to agree to disagree on whether the Staff should be opened up to more than just Wizards. I would say that if it isn't, the Wizards will be the only class to have one of the new staffs that is good enough to use on higher level builds. It seems like if this new mechanic is being introduced for multiple spellcasting classes, that the highest level token with that mechanic should be usable by more than just one of them.

In both those cases, 0 lvl spell would do just about 12 more damage.

Personally, as a Wizard main, I'm 100% for other classes being added to the Staff. I believe in more toys for more people.

My only caveat would be that it would have to be "May cast non-heal 1st lvl Spell as a Scroll (1/rm)". 14 more free 1st level heals (Druid + Cleric) would be an extra 112 points of free healing. If that was added, I would fully support adding the other casters and bards.

Wow! Thanks all for the very good feedback. I dropped the Earcuff of Orbits until next year when we will do the same Relic/Legendary treatment for it. Stay tuned!

Please, please could you consider dropping the Charm Bracelets + transmutes instead, in order to keep the Earcuff of Orbits (plus a planned transmute path) in the 2022 set?

There has been huge interest in an Earcuff of Orbits reprint on the forums in both last year's token development and this year's token development.

While Charm Bracelets is a desirable token, it's not particularly difficult to find at the moment and isn't in anywhere near as much demand as Orbits.
I play Rogue. Occasionally I even play Rogue well.

I'm OK with the non-healing spell restriction, if that's what is keeping Druids and Clerics off of it. Or have it only usable in combat rooms.

Agree with the above.

I'd also mention that last year you bumped Earcuff of Orbits to this year. Let's stick to that, eh? Continually bumping things leaves somewhat of a "broken promise" feeling.
