For the Mystic and Mage staves, I like that INT now gives a to-hit bonus. Are there many tokens that give ranged damage bonuses? I know Focus items wouldn't apply. Would the Human Wizard's wand mastery bonus apply? I assume not.

Definitely should never have been printed. But it was. and it sets the bar for belts a step or two higher because of that.

Doesn't have to be amazing (my suggestion for using it as a starter for a transmute path is +2/+3 Ranged) but it needs to have something above that belt.


This is always a common misconception that the new good token has to become the baseline but really the baseline should never change and development should be a sinusoidal pattern


I'm not sure that holds true in a game where all tokens are always usable.

People just stop buying once they hit top-of-sin tokens in each slot.

Already? The last time there was a new slot I can think of was the treasure only Greaves slot. That was a few years back.

Prior to that it was pants, and prior to that it was shirt.

It's probably not a short amount of time since a new slot came up, relative to slod additions in TD history, and I suspect we're overdue if you ignore the shin slot (which doesn't sell tokens).

I liked the suggestion that Bead of Jealous Heroism doesn't allow Earcuffs. Not a huge loss for a rare only player just getting into level 5 or one that hits 00 on a pack, as Rare and under ear is usually just a small HP loss or a save loss, and going to level 5 gives you HP. It is, however, kind of a big deal when you are locked out of Slot Expander Ears and would give a mid tier UR player a real reason to upgrade.

An idea for Badges (Badges? We don't need no stinkin' badges! :) ):

Make the new "Badge" slot hold 2 badges.

That we we sidestep both the:

"Come on, this is really just slotless" complaints today.

And the:

"Any future UR Badges have to be better than 2 Bead slots, because it's competing with the Bead slot expander UR" discussions of the future.

Then we can slowly build up the power level of the Badge slots 2nd item through all rarities similar to how shirts and boots took several years to get strong stuff in them (other than the Bead granting badge).

We could change the name to something that comes in 2s, the Epaulette slot, pockets slot :P ?

Absolutely it is. Top of the axis dosent always mean damage or hit, it can be good interactions.
With as many slots as TD has it will take quite some time for all top of axis tokens are impossible to make but other wise you just keep moving the base line and the old tokens become bottom of axis and undesirable.

+1 on the Epaulettes suggestion. Time to find some old 80s dress shirts and start making token holders! :laugh:

My thoughts:

+2 Chaos Cannon: Love it
+2 Mug of Battle: feels too similar to previous tokens that aren't all that popular, I'd skip it.
Badge of Beading: I don't love the idea of another new slot at this time.
Bead of Focus: it is plenty powerful as is, I wouldn't add INT or WIS.
Belt of the Fearless: please make this much less powerful.
Butterfly Cloak: I really like this one.
Charm Bracelets: a much-needed reprint (will help token sales)
Charm of Spell Storing: do we need more of these? Just a question.
Earcuff of Orbits: another much-needed reprint (will definitely help token sales)
Harlax's Helpful Lamp: I liked the version with the die roll better.
Ioun Stone Amethyst Orb: I like it
Sniper Spectacles: should be another popular reprint.

Does the Badge require a shirt or do you push it in like they do for "The Budweiser" sometimes?

Was Stave intentionally omitted? Or will it be added?

Harlax's Helpful Lamp round up or round down if there is an odd number in the party?

Charm of Spell Storing isn't equipable with Ring of Spell Storing. Since a character gets one Free Action a turn, unless another token breaks this, is there a need to restrict this?

Butterfly Cloaks indicates slain. Is it correct that this does not activate if killed by push damage?
