Otherwise un-tokened Monks can only throw 2 Shurikens. So no on that account.

Gloves of the Flying Fist and Benrow's Elder Drake Necklace allow Monks to make Flurry of Blows attacks at range, so we'll have to see if Nightshade's can be used as a Flurry of Blows attack.

Now that I wrote that out I guess that's probably what you are asking too: Is Nightshade's Dagger FoB combatible?

They are FoB compatible, single handed and usable by rogues I’m pretty sure makes it FoB. I’ll check to make sure. I was thinking of literally not using shuriken, also realized my auto correct said shrunken.

There's a ton of Rogue usable weapons that aren't FoB combatible. (Thor's comes to mind).

FoB has no algorithm, it's case by case:

tokendb.com/weapon-handedness/monk-flurry-compatible/

There are only 14 such weapons in the entire game, and 5 of those are bracers.

Daggers are usually d4 weapons, this is a d6 weapon. I don't want it nerfed, but is there another name we could use?

Also, Druids and Wizards get to use Daggers.

Wizard is left off of Nightshades throwing dagger...not sure about Druid.

And I think if you try changing the name the head of the thieves guild will come find you.

Lol. I think it's the Dagger part of the name he wants changed.

Maybe Nightshade has a Javelin, Hand Axe, Pilum, (Small/Short) Spear, or Throwing Axe.

Although, actually BEHOLD:

tokendb.com/token/obsidian-dagger/

A d6 dagger usable by all (including Druid and Wizard).

So I guess it's fine to be a d6 item.

If it's a dagger it should still gain Druid and Wizard for consistency.

"All" :(

Are you thinking of Ranger off-hand?

The FoB compatible list is much shorter.

You might be right, I hope with +2 flaming blade being FoB, this is also. Being I cannot throw two a round is another sad moment in monk-business.

With the goggles, can monks FoB common scrolls? :silly:

Class-Locked Item Availability By Class- 2021 URs:

Barbarian - 2
Bard - 4
Cleric - 6
Druid - 5
Fighters - 2
Monk - 1
Paladin - 4
Ranger - 1
Rogue - 1
Wizard - 4

For Ranger, Rogue and Monk, the only class locked UR in this set they can use is Nightshade's. That's out of a total of 9 class-locked items.

So you're saying they can each still use 12 out of 20 URs?

Definitely misleading in how it was presented. From 12 to 17 can be selected by a given class. How many would they select is a different story.

Whether or not misleading, last year was Barbarian, Ranger, Monk legendary.

This year is Cleric, Fighter, Wizard legendary.

it seems not unreasonable to me that the former would get a few less, and the latter a few more due to that.

Monks typically have access to less gear than most in general, it's part of their design.

Fighter only gets 2 class-locked items in a fighter year?
$10 off at Trent Tokens!

Trade me stuff

Remember it's the year of the fighter!

So I am going to have to start making some difficult decisions with my charm slots as a cleric.

My 5 currently are listed, I really view a few of them as non starter changes

COA
COAS

Charm of Spell Swapping
Charm of Broaching
Charm of Glory

As it currently stands I am most likely going to drop my Charm of Glory and Charm of Spell swapping for Charm of Fasting and Charm of Power. I am going to lose my ring of spell storing and being able to swap out some non used spells for healing but I am going to gain up to 7 castings of cure light wounds or bless and I can get my bless off as a free action in a room. I am still not entirely sold on the Cleric Legendary but these two ultra rares are going to make me have some difficult decisions.

Unless we are going to add another 6, leave the Dagger alone, it's sweet and just what we want.

Dirk? Looks like they have been d4, d6, and d8 in the past.
Stiletto? Doesn't look like any of those exist in TD.
Throwing Blade? All "blades" have been d6 weapons.

I really like Nightshade's +2 Stiletto.

So, I have a suggestion for nightshade's throwing dagger, which I thought would be a slight nerf, but then I did the math, and it actually increases the average damage. But I still like it for thematic reasons.

I suggest the damage wheel be (4,5,6,dagger*)
*Dagger is 10 on sneak attack, 6 if not.

Reasons:
Nightshade's short sword has a unique feature of replacing the LOWEST damage with the special symbol, which will then do max damage. It may not seem like much, but in 2007, that feature made it one of my top two UR picks...for ranger off-hand.
daggers are typically D4 weapons.
New weapon allowing ranged sneak attack is awesome, as such, it should be a little worse than the short sword in melee (hence D4 wheel).
As a D4 with a 6, it is now a 25% for assassin...the dagger is not a 6, even if it does 6 damage.
this is not a signature.

Mike Steele wrote: Hi Jeff, thanks for the revisions, here are some comments:

Charm of Fasting seems like a reasonable Cleric Charm. I see that it does stack with the Necklaces.

I doubt Charm of Power is strong enough for us to equip, but I'll take another look at 1st level spells to decide. On second thought, since it's cast as a Spell and is once per room, it might be.

Jinn's seems reasonable. I still think Druid should have access to it, since Wizards can access Shaman's Belt. If not, when we do the revisions, please remove the Wizards from the Shaman's Belt. It makes as much sense for a Druid to use a spellbook as it does for a Wizard to use a Shaman's Belt.

Speaking of Druids, I recommend adding them to Nightshade's +2 Dagger. They have been on the other +2 Daggers, including the +2 Dagger of Venom, so should be on this one as well.

Thanks for adding Poly to Ring of the Siren!

The Elf Wizard is a Polymorph Master? Why does it not make sense for a Polymorph Master to polymorph with a belt and call themselves a Shaman?
I play Wizard.

I'm not sure that a weapon that breaks and must be turned in at the end of combat is the best precedent for a new token.

And yes, to be clear the only part of the name that I would want changed is the "Dagger" part... since it doesnt really seem to be a dagger.

Seeing how this is the UR for the cleric transmute path I'd find it odd to add Bard on to that. Secondly it is pretty much in line with what the cleric needs (FA buffs) at the right level (save lvl 2 for prayer for the relic).

Honestly, moving it to lvl 0 spells might be a buff. Cure minor wounds gets way more use for me due to speed alone (no skill check, no reason to bug the DM other than the sharpie) and you'd get an extra spell cast at 0th level.

This is the first iteration of the cleric UR that seems to be popular. I'd be content to leave it as is.

Yeah, maybe 0s is a bad idea. As for adding Bard, the fighter relic base is useable by all, as was the ranger relic base last year. I'm sure there are more.
