I +1 the idea of the completed skull giving +7hp, however, if that is not going to happen, here’s an idea that I understand some people may find unpopular, but, if the skull only allows 1 power use per game, what if as a bonus:

A player’s Intelligence Bonus Score could be used to determine how many additional unique uses of the psychic power they can call on per game. This would give the psychic based token an extra survival benefit to intelligence-based characters. Just throwing it out there.

My hammer throwing Elf Wizard has an intelligence bonus of +6 right now. So I would like this to allow mulitple uses of the same psychic power per run if intelligence bonus is added to number of uses.

I was hoping the skull would also grant a secondary ability similar to the UR psychic enablers like a second use or immunity to psychic blast, but the Ro7P doesn't grant any beyond the subclass either. I'd be willing to pump some extra tokens into the skull if it did duplicate a UR or two.

Will these be numbered like the Rods or will there be so many that it isn't worth it?

My $0.02. No. That would be almost as bad as the original Eldritch set having special benefits for Ranger and Druid.

I'd like to see +7hp or immune to psychic blast on the token, and the Tier 8 power be something fun/useful even after the event.

If I equip this eldritch Skull and Dark Disciple’s Shirt, do I still get a second use of a psychic power?

If I equip this eldritch Skull and Ioun Stone Amethyst Ovoid, am I still immune to Psychic Blast?

I understand the benefit of the Semi-Lich Skull was focused towards people who don’t make this eldritch Skull, but it seems odd that the Semi-Lich Skull doesn’t interact with this eldritch Skull at all and actually provides a benefit that is arguably better as Semi-Lich + 7 teeth than Skull of Cavadar. If the Semi-Lich Skull is intended to be a “consolation” for those who don’t make the Skull of Cavadar, it should feel like a consolation and not a debatable choice where it is worth preventing people from transmuting 7 loose teeth. The easiest fix would be just tk make the level 8 psychic power be +7 max hp, does not count as your psychic power. Or just say you can equip the Semi-Lich and Skull of Cavadar so even though it wasn’t intended for Cavadar holders, it just accepts that it is needed to ensure people transmute.

I think it is important people feel a desire to transmute it instead of keeping 7 teeth and using one of the existing 3 URs or 2 Rares.

I think it is important people who acquire Skull of Cavadar in 2023 understand they missed the fun event, but still feel like it is valuable, like how RoSP still feels valuable to people even now.

Jeff, it actually works out really well that the event isn't until 2022 at the earliest. The transmute window goes through 2022, so having the event a year or more later gives people closer to the full transmute window to do the transmute and get the code for the event. :)

It was definitely clearly stated last year.


I skipped design last year.

I bought the semi lich skull specifically because it was a slotless trigger for the teeth which I have owned but never had active this year.

There was NOTHING mentioned anywhere outside of the design pages that I was not a part of to indicate the semi lich skull would become useless once I made the transmute.

coming into it from that direction it sucks.

I don't remember if I ended up with a semi-lich skull - If I did, looks like it will be heading for the open market along with many others!

I know Jeff confirmed the special event would be in 2022 - did he say it would be at GC? Would be difficult to make a different event, but would have a lot of time to plan!

And this would be another eldritch item? And give me access to subclasses for the first time? Nice.

I am worried about being able to transmute for this AND the wizard relic/legendary at the same time.
