That seems like a TERRIBLE decision in my opinion. I REALLY REALLY REALLY hope he rethinks that and allows the transmute to work with the skull given how little the teeth actually do

If not it makes the Semi Lich Skull completely worthless

I think we don't have enough data points for Grand Eldritch items to say that there is a strong pattern to follow.

My preferred version of the Grill of Cavadar would be:
Imbues psychic
Immune to Psychic Blast
Allow use of one additional Psychic Power
+1 Will save per Charm equipped
+7 HP

Two recipes. One recipe which takes the 7 teeth, 1 of the UR imbuers, and minimal Trade goods. The other which takes the 7 teeth, 1 Rare imbuer, and a larger amount of trade goods.

If the transmute includes the +7 HP from the Skull that's different.

The the RoSP only required 1x of each trade bit plus the segments

I don't think a single data point from 7 years ago is the only pattern we have to draw from. We've seen the cost of other transmutes go up in the intervening 7 years.

What about a 4* belt for +3 Dex?

It wouldn't have the Viper strike name, and we already have a +3 STR transmute at that level.

No eldritch transmute (there have been 4 of them) has ever required a UR that was not part of the cycle.

I guess the though there might be to have leftover teeth retain some value by going into the skull.

And I'm not saying this would require a UR either. I'm saying that would be one of the recipes.

If you don't have a recipe that takes one of the UR imbuers as an option, you've now greatly decreased the value of the existing UR imbuers, since the fact that they imbue psychic becomes pointless for people making the transmute.

The transmute for the teeth is different from the past, because never in the past did you need some other token in order for the separate components leading up to the transmute to work.
