I don't understand all the pushback on a neck slot. It would be extremely helpful for us mid levels who don't have CoA and want to use our TE with our relic/legendary necklace. I would go for this in a heartbeat.


The Horn of Plenty was the reason the neck slot has the power that it has now.

It was determined that in order for a token to be viable in the neck slot it needed to be strong enough to be willing to give up the Horn of Plenty. This lead to very strong tokens, which lead to other strong alternatives and so on.

Eventually the Charm of Avarice was created to remove the Horn of Plenty from locking the neck slot and Ring of Riches from locking one of the two ring slots.

Unfortunately due to the designs on neck tokens over the years giving very strong effects (prior to the class specific paths opening) the slot is of a significant strength over other slots.

The unfortunate fact is that the neck slot is simply too strong to allow a second slot.

Class Legendary
Class Relic
Medallion of Valhalla
Charm Necklace
Hand of Glory
Stu-pendous Pendant

Doubling any of these items is a massive boost


I wouldn't agree with the blanket statement that a second neck slot can't be allowed. I'm sure there is some solution that would work. For instance, a token that gave a second neck slot but took all Ring slots might actually be underpowered.

There are bless scrolls too. Was thinking any bless. But sure an add for guidance. Heck put one out this year and guidance next year.

I am a fan for sets that create player choices so that BiS is also subject to the “supporting cast” of tokens elsewhere on the character. This in my mind aids the team and makes it a thing clerics can also “carry extras” as the team energy is formed

One way to resolve too much healing being available, give a viable way to turn it into damage. Give clerics something to do during battle after buffing.

This might make sense as an aspect of the cleric legendary path.


This is a really cool idea except I wonder if a UR is not appropriate...sounds like a 4* relic

Thanks for the information on why a second neck slot has pushback.

So looking at the situation where many of us have to choose between our relic/legendary necklace and our Amulet of TF, what about like an earring that let us equipt a TE in say a charm slot? That would remove 2 slots, and would solve the overpowering issue.

I know it's a use case that doesn't benefit anyone with the CoA, just trying to offer suggestions to make the relic/legendary more viable for mid tier who like treasure. I expect many are like me and want to slowly invest in the legendary, but need the TEs to build up the tokens needed to get it.

Maybe a slotless UR token that allows you to equip a TE UR that isn't a Charm in a Charm slot?

This sounds a lot like the Double-Hooped Earring that I was critiqued on. Doesn't this in essence create a new Earring/Charm/Ring/Neck slot (only for UR TE tokens)?

How about this then:

Charm of greed (Charm slot)
May equip one Rare or UR TE as slotless.

This way it works with AoTF, RoR, HoP, or even a nugget, as long as you give up a charm slot to do it.

What about my earlier suggestion? It solves the problem without creating a new slot:

"Maybe a slotless UR token that allows you to equip a TE UR that isn't a Charm in a Charm slot?"

Although, like I mentioned earlier, I'm not opposed to a UR the expands a slot (like the Double-Hoop Earring adding another Earring slot). I don't see it as much different than a whole new slot being created, and at least this way TD gets a UR sale in the process. So in theory I'm not opposed to a slotless TE UR Runestone Base or something similar.

Charm, Ioun Stone or Slotless I would be fine with any of them.

I might say Ioun Stone if it's limited specifically to treasure enhancers as that's not causing power creep at that point
