I doubt the proposed Potion f Heroism would be much of a materials sink.

I doubt there is much of a market for $10 per run level boosters. Vets already have a way to get plus one level if they care about it, and new players are unlikely to want to spend even 10 on the chance to run at level +1 one time.

I would bring a stack with me for when I have friends that don’t have a +1 level or for party members using RoFH or MoH where it would free up slots so they could equip more gear for a nightmare run.

I could even see handing some out to pugs for the right price

I completely agree. I'm excited about the idea of a straight-up rare that newer players could pull in a starter pack. For some it's a cool one (or two) time thrill, for others it's the gateway to buying a permanent item.

I'm hearing loud and clear that we need to make sure 20x of the consumables aren't more attractive than a UR. I think we ought to be able to accomplish that by adding other limitations which would be minor inconveniences for a new player but total deal breakers for vets. A few ideas to kick around:

Elixir of Humble Heroism (rare)

+1 level if you equip no charms or ioun stones

+1 level if you equip no treasure enhancers

+1 level if you equip no tokens above Rare

Amulet of Piety - rare
+1 level
Your other tokens must be only common or uncommon.

I like this idea. Still a great pull from a pack for a beginner, clearly worse then URs and Relics for long term players.

What about a set with three URs and two rares, with a four piece Level Up?

Seems totally in bounds - 2 URs and 4 slots for a level (of course it depends on the tokens, the rares shouldn't be BiS rares...).

The idea is to give players not already at the UR level a way to experience the 5th level characters, a consumable rare that costs a treasure might be a good way?

I like the idea of a mostly rare set, with a single UR to encourage people to make the jump. But I could also see people complaining they felt pressured to buy the UR to compete the set, but I'd be ok with that lol

In this case it wouldn't be a whole lot different than the normal UR level booster (RoFH, Cook's Hat, etc). However, instead of just making certain slots unusable, instead they would be filled with particular rares.

If those rares were done well, I think this would be a fantastic idea. For example:

3 rares are shirt, pants, and back, and the UR is a neck. This limits a build to fixed choices for shirt / pants / back / neck that while good may not be optimal, but doesn't have any penalities.

Set the 3 rare items as one set bonus so people want to collect them, then add the +1 level as 4th item bonus, which you can only get by having the UR.

i don’t like tying treasure to level bumps.
