First off, I love the 2020 set. I think it's one of the best sets to come out since I've been playing.
I've been looking forward to upgrading my Ranger with the new class-specific neck item. I saved my gold, trade tokens, and monster bits like a good little boy. :)

That being said, looking at these recipes, I think someone is overdoing it. The amount of AI, AP, MH, & GF is a bit much. Especially considering how hard it is to get these in such quantity. Pretty sure a tweak is needed to lower these down a bit.

I get these recipes are written in stone and won't be changed for one schlub like myself. But you've made it easier for me to decide NOT to spend money on this item. In fact, the way the recipes keep asking for more and more like this, it makes it easier to NOT spend money on the tokens at all.

I'm severely disappointed :(

Nothing is going to change now that is correct. But what everyone forgets, is this doesnt have to be made in 1 year. you have 2 years(ish) to make 3 star,4 star, and relics. Then The legendary never expire. They cane be made for years

To be fair to Dr. Stupid, there were quite a few people saying the new recipes were too expensive. For the most part, we were ignored.

There have been design and recipe choices I didn’t agree with or understand - but I’ve never felt ignored.

Recipes were tweaked multiple times - including lowering EM requirements radically- so feedback wasn’t ignored.

The mix of individual components definitely changed. but the increase of 25%+ more trade goods required for transmutes didn't really change.

Look at Blessed Redoubt helm (65 units - last 3 auction price of $230) vs Necklace of the Drake (107 units - last 3 auction price of $340 + Fleece) for example.

Edit to say that there was plenty of support to tweaking the recipes, so I felt heard there. There was never a response to why recipes needed to jump in material cost 25 to 40% from 2019 and 2018 recipes, and if we could considering keeping the cost at or near 2019 rates, however.

You're not wrong. I wasn't around. I had other things to focus on.

That said, how did 15 Alchemist Ink & 15 Alchemist Parchment for BOTH the relic and Legendary sounds like a good idea to anyone?
It's hard enough to scrounge 4 or 5 a year. Seems like 30 total is a bit much.

My apologies Im not directing this towards anyone in particular. It's just odd the quantities that were deligated for the recipes.

Shameless plug:

Alchemist's Ink currently at $2.25, Alchemist's Parchment at $2.76:

I have to stick up for True Dungeon here. There was plenty of Bi*****G (discussion) here on the Forums that several trade goods had dropped so dramatically in value that people were unhappy, to say the least. To be fair, several auctions were running in which DP and MS were selling for less than a dollar.
Those folks argued that there needed to be a trade good sink to remove some of them from the market. TD does a good job of listening to people so that the recipes were tweaked to accommodate pressure from the players. I believe the argument was made, although I can't find the post, that anyone in the position to be transmuting a Legendary was probably someone who had done enough runs to have more trade goods than they knew what to do with.

I'm not advocating for this as I won't be making any of this years Legendaries or Relics so I have no dog in this fight. We'll see what happens next year after experience has shown what effect these recipes have had.

I don't think I do. But considering the balance of scrolls/potions released per set compared to others it's a bit much IMHO.
and considering they're also consumables it's more...to me that is.
From what I've recently read EM went from nearly 15 or so to 5 total. Same concept. They are consumables and not many released per set. Granted, EM tokens are fewer than scrolls/potions. But not by much I don't think.
I could be wrong, and please correct me if I am.

To me it's not about getting all the trade tokens in one year. Given my own personal spending habits (which are decent in my opinion, at $1k-$2k per year) it will still take considerable time to accumulate those scrolls and potions.

I think that the increase in quantities of trade item tokens was a direct result of the drop in value of so many of the trade item and monster tokens, indicating a glut of them on the market.
