Can we remove the Ranger relic and legendary bonus to ammo and increase the sharpshooter bonus?

I feel like it leads to a confusing scenario where the ranger is explaining to the DM that their +2 Holy Arrow is actually a:

  • +2/+4 Holy arrow with the relic
  • +2/+6 Holy arrow with the relic and rare Quiver of Boosting
  • +2/+5 Holy arrow with the legendary
  • +2/+7 Holy arrow with the legendary and rare Quiver of Boosting

I think having so many interactions that require consumables detracts from the "awesomeness" for the relic and legendary, and it would make life easier for the Ranger and DM if the Relic was changed to:

Relic
  • +3 CON
  • +6 dmg Sharp Shooter
  • use Druid scroll 1/game

Legendary
  • +4 CON
  • +9 dmg Sharp Shooter
  • use Scroll 2/game
  • Animal Friend

Doesn't the new Fury 2x/game qualify as something fun?

Yes, perhaps I was unclear. Fury is plenty fun. I think that the legendary needs something to better differentiate it from the relic. By saying fun I meant that I didn’t need it to be more powerful, just that it would be nice to be something else besides the same as the relic but slightly better.

With that logic the Rogue Legendary should not have been printed...

Counts as an eldrtich set piece.

As most everyone with these tokens is probably is already at 2 setpieces, that amounts to +1 to damage and +2 to healing spells, and is a callback to when these classes were more attuned to eldritch than the rest.

I like the idea in theory. I've been doing a lot of analysis on Iktomi's and how it stacks up to this year's Ava's & Ralson's. I don't really think the gap is that large, but there is a gap.

Since we're not done tweaking yet, I don't think anything drastic has to be done, especially since it seems your proposal will upset a subset of the player-base. The idea is definitely a neat one, though...as it is a callback to how Eldritch used to work.

I completely agree that would be a callback to how Eldritch set used to work, and I think that is a bad thing. Then again, I was among those that never thought it made sense for a set that required so much time and investment to benefit 2 out of the 12 classes more than the others.

(Especially tying it to the nature classes when the word Eldritch is most often associated with unnatural things)

Lenses of the Owl: clarify the effect. I hate to harp on this but it has been said plenty of times during this process and I don't want it to be missed.

Paladin Legendary: this is much better. As it stands I think this is a sufficiently powerful Legendary. It doesn't take a neck slot and if you are OK guarding two people only once per dungeon it frees up a neck slot. Or if you keep Amulet of Guarding you can guard three people in one room. I like that the weapon no longer changes the party card because at least for Grind that's going to make things tough.

I really like the Grace effect. In fact I like Legendary tokens granting Legendary choices, like guarding an extra person or when to use Grace. An idea I had late in the game, which would have to be instead of the extra guard and the Grace, would be a "Guard against all melee attacks for room 1/game". That would be a more Legendary idea but I know it is late in the process.

Monk Legendary: I like the psychic ability. I'm glad the ability to stun is still 1/combat so it doesn't break the game. I still think that giving +7 dmg to each of two attacks for both melee and ranged attacks is a bit OP but I'm not going to harp on that any more.

Ranger Legendary: Even though I'm a melee-focused Ranger, I like it and will craft one, mostly for the CON and to boost my ranged damage for when I need to use ranged. The scrolls, ammo, and animal companions are all cool abilities that I think I will use from time to time.

Grace is a great effect, though is +3 the right number?
I would like to see guard be the entire run rather than just one room.

I think Monk could be +4 relic, +6 legendary and still be the best legendary token.

Time to make the first 2-sided token!

You jest, but imagine a weapon that has two modes, one on each side. :woohoo:

Ooh, that would open up some interesting avenues!

It would take some extra tooling but if all common through rare tokens had two sides, it would fix the problem many new players run into of not having a range weapon, it would instantly open a certain number of slots at each rarity to and interesting tokens or just back fill them with more weapons one.
I like the idea

I am VERY against every token having two sides. It would increase overall costs (I imagine), and most tokens don't have a reason to have two sides (especially things like potions, wands, etc). I wouldn't suggest it even for most weapons.

It would be helpful for combo weapons, ranged vs melee being obvious by which side is up. Then they could have different damage wheels, etc. (Something like a dagger or spear would theoretically have the same wheel, but something like a slingstaff could have a d6 on the melee side and a d4 on the sling side, etc.

You could have something like a blunder weapon with a bayonet, a halberd could have two wheels, a magic rod or staff could have a melee wheel and a magic ranged wheel, etc.

There is a possibility of equippable tokens where you choose one side or the other, but there'd have to be a reason to have two sides, as we already have tokens that involve choice in the Coaching room.

Fixing the no range newbie problem would be as simple as having a bunch of slings on hand and either handing them out or trading them for any common token.

I didn’t mean it as logic. Nor do I believe that that is a bad legendary. Some legendary tokens are just better versions of the relics, and some add a bit of flavor. I just prefer the ones that add a bit of flavor.

The idea of special tokens having two sides is pretty cool, but it will likely require a special mold. And the stickers are put on by hand so that would increase cost as well. So not good for a general solution but it would be cool for something really special or unique (which makes the mold cost prohibitive I'm sure).

These look great. However, my wizard is probably only going to transmute the gem and save up for the future.

Question on the Charm of Glory:

Is there any class or build that does not always swap one charm for a ring with the extra charm slots granted by the earcuff?

Granted. The first usage would have to be for an UR or better to make the cost reasonable, then (or at the same time), it could be used also for some C/UC/R. Even once you had the mold, I wouldn't think using it often would be the play.
