I think the token economy may need some non-class-specific relics for it's health.

To give an example of my thinking... People that equip entire teams only need 4 relics for 2020 if you just do class specific ones. Compare that to 2018, where a full team was likely aiming somewhere between 10-25 relics. (For groups that are doing relic-level transmuting)

So I suggest we need at least one if not two non-class-specific Relics in the mix for 2020.

That's a reasonable plan I suppose, though maybe one new relic will do it?

The year before last, we only had CoAS, +3 Hammer, and Blessed Redoubt Helm, correct?

This year we have the kilt, the bead, and the class specifics.

I like the idea of something like a CoAS, or something as well.

What I dont know is what we might be able to make. Should we come up with something new, or try to combine a couple existing URs?

That's part of why I suggested reprinting Cabal set and making a transmute for the gloves to boost them. It would be a relic to boost 5 of the classes that don't get a class-specific relic this year.

Toss that in the mix and then also a Relic that any class can use. Given the theme, I suggest a reprint of Ioun Stone Lavender Ellipsoid (exact or updated), with a Relic transmute that has some additional boosts against undead.

We had one (Bead) this year, but it was a special case. I wouldn’t object to one this year, so long as it’s totally generic. Maybe two. It depends a little on whether there are Dwarf and Elf legendaries. I don’t mind getting a couple of years off from relic transmuting.

But I’ll be honest. It’s a bit late now, but I really dislike the single-class legendaries in general. I like having flexibility, and the more expensive the token, the more flexibility I want. My first legendary was Ring of Focus because I could use it with four classes. I almost didn’t make the Baton because it’s only usable by two. I play almost nothing but Cleric but I can’t promise I’ll make that one when it finally rolls around.

For those who don’t mind being locked into a single class, more power to you.

I’m not pursuing any of the class Relics/Legendaries this year. Rogue is not a class I enjoy. My sons Druid build is spell focused, it’s very weak at melee.

That worked out well for me as it freed up resources to make Relsa’s.

I rarely transmute non-storyscape relics, but I will transmute the Shaman relic. I'm looking forward to being a transmuted elemental in combat. I'm even considering eventually transmuting the Legendary. :)

I actually really like the single class relics because they get to be more special. I plan to make all of them. And for once, i am really excited to make the legendaries for the classes my core group plays. All the generic relic/legendary just come down to a cost/benefit to me.

I concur. I'll be making one of each relic eventually, and perhaps more. Plus several of the legendaries, or so I hope.

Not sure if this one was mentioned or not, but Shield of the Scholar seems to be in demand and not readily available. It might also drive the use of consumables, which we seem to think is a good thing.

you turned in a shield of the scholar for your blessed redoubt shield? Wow, that was a bad deal for you.

I cheerfully sent a shield of the phalanx to the chipper for mine.
