If it was to be once per combat it could allow the elf wizard to cast alertness every combat which could be multiple times if bouncing the enemy several times with lesser maze. Probably more balanced as once oer room.

Hmm... I hate to suggest new terms, but how about (1/combat room)?

That would also allow some future proofing in case other 0th/1st level spells get added to the character cards.

I think the way to pull that off without adding a weird rule is: 1/room, combat only

Too good based on existing healing spells I'm afraid.

For Cleric, Druid, and 5th level Ranger this amounts to 40 points of healing over the course of the dungeon (and it might be better, that's just what you get with Cure Minor).

I have no problem with them adding more recast as a scroll options, if they make casting scrolls a viable build path. To me the issue is not with these tokens, as they already exist at most rarities; the issue is that scrolls lack enough modifying tokens. The cat is out of the bag and the best solution is to make it a fun cat.

+1 scroll case of attack : wizard, bard, cleric, druid - 1 hand - 2,3,4,5 - protects scrolls from damage, adds 1 point of healing or damage to all targets of scrolls contained in this scroll case. May only be used for attack if a main hand weapon.

+3 Chaos Mallet : fighter, barbarian - main hand - 0, 5, 11, 16 -wielded takes 3 eldritch on a 16.
This averages out to 8 like the death flail, has a crazy swing, and also has a clear negative for crazy swinging. It also has a potential for only doing bonus damage which I this is an interesting space, as such I increased the to hit. Yes the 3 would mean if it were not a magical weapon, it would be a weapon with a damage wheel of -3,2,8,13

If you were wanting to try for a non-magic version, i would suggest printing the 0,5,11,16 damage wheel with '-3 damage' ability printed on the weapon.
