Any sliders hitting the Wizard's slider on the combat board adds 2 shock damage to the total damage for the sliding player (if a hit is scored).

Not sure if this adds time to the rounds, but I think there is a tactical component - like getting the wizards to slide first, etc.

Could be that this is over / under powered, but can be adjusted as necessary.

Thoughts?

I'll let the combat DMs speak to this, but I doubt this is practically feasible.

The DM seems to be attending to spellcasters or other things while sliding is going on.

Sliders can't really tell what pucks are being hit.

You could adjust the idea some like: "Any pucks that scores a hit and is on the same number as the Wizard's puck"?

That makes sense. So any puck hitting and landing in the same space as the Wizards' puck gets the +2 shock damage.

Thoughts on if this is appropriate at the UR level?

What if the rogue was wearing a creeper shirt? Would that negate the no sneak attack? B)

I like it thematically, but I don't like it as it would require the DM to watch the board to see which pucks hit this puck. I would rather them take care of casters (as they currently should be doing) while players are sliding.

I missed that someone else already pointed this out.

I wouldn't mind seeing another scroll modifier token of some sort. Personal choice would be something that grants a stat bonus to scroll damage & healing.

I'm jumping from the transmute thread.

Magnificent Magnifying Glass - off hand - bard, cleric, Druid, wizard - +4 to scroll healing or damage, this goes into a pool but does not grant additional targets, may be divided in any way among applicable targets. May be used with a two handed Wizard staves.

Looking at brawlers mug as reference for bonus size and shield of the scholar being likely more powerful I think 4 is a reasonable number for an ultra rare. I like the idea that a wizard is pulling out a looking glass and a scroll with their staff already out to see every last rune or sigil on the scroll as they cast it.

In the heart of scrolls being mass effects and wands holding the single target role, this could also be +1 to all targets for the effect. It would be as much as 10 for healing which would maybe be more relic power, but I've only seen true swarms at 6 or 7 never having played grind. Honestly with the shield already existing, a +1 all might be more in line with the shield of the scholar, especially since it gives up a shield to use it.

The staff piece of the wording gives me a really odd mental picture. So you've got the magnifying glass in one hand, the staff in the other... And then pulling out the scroll how? ;)

Though the magnifying glass sounds thematically fun, I suggest just making it a different slot like Ioun Stone. Ioun Stone Diamond Magnifying or something.

You're using the magnifying glass to read it off the Shield of the Scholar that you've magically shrunk down to the size of a stamp and which is tied to the staff, clearly!

Here I was just assuming the magnifying glass was a monocle.

I'd think the eye slot would be even worse, as then you couldn't use it with Lenses of Sage Speed or Lenses of Divine Sight.

I don't know that a scroll booster is necessarily worthy of an UR, and if it were to be an UR then I'd expect the effect to be something better than double an effect on an existing rare. Not to mention that using scrolls represents spending cash on tokens for the scrolls in the first place, often running a solid $50+ for a scroll supply per con season, and keeping a scroll build on the more affordable side of rare and low transmutes would be nice IMO.

Pushing it into an off-hand slot: Not much of a fan of that. Would prefer slotless but understand the resistance to slotless items.

I think it would work better as a slotless rare or enhanced 3pt, personally. Maybe even a treasure box only or participation rare. Scrolls are a tight niche build at the moment that looks great on Bards, not sure on Clerics, Wizards, or Druids since they have more direct role build options immediately available that are probably better than a scroll build.

I'll admit selfishness in wanting a scroll booster that works extremely well for Bards while still offering something to the other scroll casters, especially since the Lute of Fury and Free Fury will still be available next year. :)
