I have a +3, no Asher's. I do have a Bracers of Quivering Palm if we cannot find an Asher's, 1 shooting monsters is fun...

Heck yes. My bracers of quivering palm are easily half the reason I have had so much fun playing monk lately.

Legendary neck seems the biggest damage boost right? If your brother in law is a good slider that is. Can he forego the +to hit from surtr's?

Does mean I should have him lean strength rather than Con I suppose

+6 to hit and +10 damage if kilt is con and surtr's, 49hps

+4 to hit and +8 to damage if kilt is str and legendary neck, 39hps
+8 to hit and +12 damage if kilt is str and surtr's, 39 hps

If your in law hasn't played rogue then I recommend CON. He might not be good at the rogue boxes on nightmare and we may need those clues. Which is of course what the Rod is for. However if he has to use it each time. This that is minus 30 HP.

He's quite good actually, but I felt the insurance was too important
