That's the kind of deliberation I was having with myself. Is it better to have +15 HP and +2 Fort saves or -10 from fire, ice, shock, and sonic and 3 eldritch retribution?

As for init mattering, I'm not so sure. Every round of combat we can avoid sounds good. Is it worth 2 treasure pulls, and the ability to use lesser maze to heal if needed? Hard to say.i definitely wont be giving up Drake's for it.

It is not worth it to lesser maze and heal imo. You get 1 round. That means 2 heals (or 3 counting the bard). We are not going to have potions to drink.

I would borrow a rod just to get the stat even-er and be my second eldritch. Boots are a waste. I wont be attacking.

Also I will have the legendary lute and the rest of my build. Just need to borrow rod.

I may also drop a nugget for crown if we feel the extra group heal is worth it. We wont know the puzzles so we will take some damage.

I am in favor of the staff of power. Plus 20 to init every room is a big deal.

It is a once per room affect so you are going to get to use it 3 times. It also ONLY works on 1st level spells so no Cat's Grace or Bull's Strength.

Once per room, wizards wielding this staff may cast a 1st-level spell (1st-level only, not any other level of spell) from their character card “for free” (the spell is not marked off of their character card).

That is Alertness, Acid Spray and Magic Missile from the Elf Wizard.

I think the statement was independent of the staff of power talk. Just talking about using lesser maze in general.

I personally would rather have the 1 minute for all charaters to slide than for 1 character getting +2/+2 in melee. I don't know. It doesn't sound efficient to me but it may save us.

You could be correct. I think that is why I am confused. I still fail to see why the +2 Staff of Power makes the cut, but that also is his call.
