Edwin: I think you volunteered for Bard Troubador, but I wasnt completely sure.

I am happy to play most classes. And an opportunity to play something I've never played before is awesome too.

I don't want to speak for him, but Beertram is usually partial to druid.

Ok, let's see if we can resurrect this discussion amongst the current token discussions.

For a Ranger I was thinking
3 TE
Kilt of Dungeonbane-Dex or Stu-Pendous Pendant or Ro7P (to allow for Thor's)
SRoEC
Bot4W
Thor's Hammer
Asher's

Thoughts?

I have pretty much assumed we are doing 8 tokens now.

I haven't mathed out which is better in terms of the top line. I think Jedi convinced me that SRoEC has some significant utility here.

I do think going without armor is necessary in this particular situation, as needing 2 weapons does make it difficult.

Yes to Barbarian Berzerker.

Gloves of Weapon Finesse
+5 Deathcleaver
Surtr’s Girdle of Fire Giant Strength
Kilt of Dungeonbane (Con)
CoA
ISSN
ISGN
Rod of Seven parts (voucher)

Could go Strength on the Kilt, but I’m kind of liking 63 HP rather than 53. At 63 it would take 112 point of damage to make me more than “mostly dead.”
D&D teaches all the important lessons in life - the low blow, the cheap shot, the back stab, the double cross. - Jerry Marsischky

Let them trap us. We have our swords. - Elric of Melnibone.

You try to get them to play the game, but all they want to do is play the rules. - Ardak Kumerian

I do not love the bright sword for its sharpness, nor the arrow for its swiftness, nor the warrior for his glory. I love only that which they defend - Faramir

Are you trying to be versaltile? I would just pick either go range or go melee for the ranger and just focus on that. Better be a master at one than a master at none.

Also the Paladin wall can guard 2 so no armor is fine....to some degree.

You could use use Mithral Gauntlets in place of the Gloves and get +2/+2 instead of +3/0. Your call.

My though was that, with needing 2 weapons for melee anyhow, it would be too bad to get to 20 Dex and have one be a Thor's.

Let me crunch some numbers.

More and more I'm liking the idea of either

a. Adding A CoAS into every build (kind of excessive)
b. Bringing along an elf wizard with a staff of power

The idea being, every time we win initiative, we have one less round of combat to endure.

I dont know if combat damage or puzzle damage is the bigger issue, but I suspect it's both

Thoughts?

I created an elf wizard with
+2 Staff of Power
Drakes
Relsa's
3 TE
Kilt (Con)
Boots

37 HP
+16 spell damage
AC 12....

Well we know know E1 will be 4 puzzles and 3 combats. That makes me feel we should prioritise HP even more than damage. I suspect the last room will be a puzzle, which means that it is likely a solve or deathas most last puzzle rooms are. I don’t what that means we should do or change for builds just putting it out there.

I don’t know how I feel about an elf wizard using 2 slots on weapons, 1 that will only have 3 uses.

It was an idea. I kind of dont really know, but the one weapon could potentially save us up to 3 rounds of combat, and therefore damage, was my thought

yeah or just be a watsed slot if we roll well or use CoAS. Not saying it is bad, just that I don’t know.
