First run Thursday would be ideal.

That's an interesting idea . Free attacks are good.

Need to see the Origins event schedule.

On Thursday I expect to be available for a TD run between 3pm and 6pm (starting and ending within that window). This is based on other events I play in earlier and later on Thursday.

Best for me would be first run Friday morning or first run Saturday morning.

Not sure when TD will start runs on Thursday (assuming they do Thursday runs). I definitely can't wait until Saturday, and some will only be there Friday.

Well, I think all ideas are worth discussing.

If we do the fighter/barbarian/monk builds with the new charms, what would that look like?
3TEs
Kilt
Boots
Melee Weapon
Charm
Ranged Weapon? Armor?

I'm not sure the Charm is the way to go.

I am beginning to see an Elf Wizard like this:
3 TEs
Boots
Kilt or SRoEC
+2 Staff of Power
Relsa's
Drake's

So when are you guys transmuting your kilts and turning in your CoA's? I don't know how secure I feel about sending my sets in through the mail. That being the case, if we are trying to get one of the very first runs in will waiting for transmutes impact some of our strategy?

CoA's no, because we can turn them in afterwards. If anyone wants to turn theirs in before I have my 10 that I can wait till after the run. For the Kilt. I don't know for me because I don't know what I am playing yet.

Also I thought (maybe mistakenly) you could drop off on Wednesday???

For the Rogue slot, here's my current plan:
* Indicated pretty much necessary
*CoA - main TE
ISSN
ISGN
*Rod of Persuasion +2 - The hints are really important to have and this is a passable magic weapon
*Raphiel's Sneaky Necklace (if I can get it done by then - I will try) - Biggest booster for a rogue out there
*RoSP or Kilt of Dungeonbane (Con or Str) - This would be the only real stat boost and provides desperately needed HP
*BoFW - Primary damage booster and, combined with the Kilt, provides 5th level

I figure 5th level is a necessity. The rogue RoSP voucher is pretty terrible - I'd prefer to wait and use it for Wizard on the GT run at GenCon. The Kilt provides more benefit than the RoSP does (especially hp for a rogue). BoFW provides the only big damage booster that I'd get.
Raphiel's gives me the opportunity to actually do a little damage (likely +8 or +9 damage plus +15 damage for sneak with a crit range of 17-20 with sneak attack on both the first and second round).

It is tempting to not do either of the Ioun Stones but that kind of takes away from the challenge. We can all survive without 2 treasure tokens but the idea is to do this on super-hard mode. If the group opts not to go with the two stones, I'd add the following:
Libram of Looting so we can get the box token plus the hint - those might be helpful - I'm a bit torn there, though - how much would those help for nightmare if you didn't pull healing scrolls?
Cloak of Shadowskin (1 or 2) - with little hp, this would be big - so much so that I might do a second cloak of shadowskin in the 2018 GT necklace
Belt of Frost Giant Strength - it would help to actually hit things :)

Thoughts?

A few thoughts:
1. Healing will be a bit sparse since we're going to get slammed with damage with low ACs and poor saves - thoughts for how to not run dry here?
2. Wherever possible have weapons double as throwable to give range - that flexibility would be important;
3. A bard with the new legendary lute would be huge - our saves won't be good - being able to re-roll 1-3 would likely prevent party wipes;
4. Jeff seems to be overtly telegraphing that we'll be taking a ton of fire damage this year (I lost count on how many tokens were tied to resisting fire damage). Anyone with the Supreme Ring of Elemental Command might want to consider it rather than the Kilt or RoSP (excepting Barbarian - if you can do the Bezerker - that's fun just to see it done :) . ).

I did Barbarian Berzerker last time.

With the ruling on Paladin sacrifice and Fight After Death, it is very viable.

The key to success is going to be avoiding puzzle damage.

I dont think fire damage is as likely to be an issue in N1. abyssal swamp.

Libram doesn't seem worth it to me. You get 3 extra treasure if we need the clue vs 2 extra treasure with the stone. If don't need the clue then you would get the 3 treasure anyway plus the 2 stone treasure.

I thought we said you could not use a token in the GT necklace as that would be an additional token (or are you still saying instead of the IS?

When we did this at TDC. We boiled every class down to really what it in the party for. So for a rogue it is to open Rogue boxes. You don't need to hit anything because you don't have to slide. You need to be alive for all the rogue boxes more than we need another puck on the table. Not saying you shouldn't build for damage, but I imagine that damage isn't going to be an issue from the classes that are going to focus on it (barbarian, monk, ranger). If they are the only sliders they will get enough rounds to kill anything.

Again not saying anyone shouldn't slide, but if extra people are sliding that are doing little damage or have little chance of hitting it is something to consider whether they should not slide so we can get to the next round faster.

I played paladin without a weapon and only slide when I had to bump someone out of off the gelatinous cube.
