They don’t send a “not selected” in case someone selected doesn’t buy their ticket in January. Returning VIG have until the 20th of January to buy their ticket, new VIGs have until the 27th, after that there still might be new VIG invites although I doubt many would pass on the second round.

Got it,
So if you did not get it,
You ain’t getting it, for the most part.

Looks like I need a Natural 20,
On a D20
Then a 19+ on the 2nd roll.
Not too likely.

They will likely send another round in January after the 13th, to give away the spots not wanted by returning VIGs.

Actually the guy who organizes it takes the full list of names he gets who want VIG, and rolls a D20 and on a 20 he adds that name to the short list for VIG. So you're correct, you need a Nat 20.

Hmmm, wow that’s funny,
Let’s go one time on a Nat-20 then.

Considering yesterday was the day for VIG renewal and room selection, I don't know if more emails will have gone out yet or not.

I still have my fingers crossed for a lucky email.

Well, I had to soul search if I could float the VIG badge and the whole trip on my own this year before buying the VIG. I'm sure others that go thru this same thing every year. I had my group for Pax South meltdown and now I'm going solo. Which is not a cheap adventure.
Gencon cost a bit more to swing than Pax South and I'm not the kind of person to "Gorilla-Con" it. I'd rather skip it. But after crunchin' the numbers. Gencon is a go.
I guess we'll know if anyone else got an email in a couple of weeks.
