Hi all, we are locals and third year for PAX. We are PT volunteers this year and are doing a ton of runs in Smakdoen style. We just heard from our local game shop group that they added some game vendors this year (board games is what we have heard) but if you run out of stuff that interests you inside, the convention center is on the Riverwalk which is great and a short trolley ride to several museums, breweries, botanical and Japanese tea gardens and more. Should be a good time for all. See everyone there.

Street tacos are the only thing worthy of the cost atthe food vendors.

Thanks Thomas - good to know, and one of my favorite foods anyway!

It's a quick 5 minute walk to the mall which has a food court and better options.

The layout of Pax South has changed every year (between 2016 and 2017 they tore down 1/3 of the building!) so while last year there was a pretty big dead space in one corner while the new wing/floor opened up, I couldn't begin to guess how things will be laid out this year.

That said, there are certain things that won't change: There are two entrances on the North side of the convention center that will be the main entrances. The Westerly one leads to the Main Theater and the queue rooms (and a left turn will take you past some spaceship-looking reading nooks on the way to) the Easterly one, which is the big lobby area for the convention center. This is where Bandland and the Info Booth have been the last couple years, and beyond it will be the big hall where the Expo Hall, Tabletop, and PC should be. Also there are escalators up to the 2nd floor (it was handheld and MagFest Jamspace last year, I think, didn't exist the previous year, as well as the home for the Take This AFK room (if you need to escape crowds/noise/input for a whole), coat check, and the Diversity Lounge), and 3rd floor, where you'll find TD and the VR room(s?).

On the back/southern end of the CC, on the 2nd floor, you'll find 3 theaters for panels: Armadillo and Bobcat to the West, and Cactus on its own (classically the lines outside these rooms have Dance Central and Jackbox Party games). On the 3rd floor (around the corner and through some doors from TD) you'll find Falcon theater roosting over Cactus, and next to it has always been Console/Classic Console (at least the last three years). Falcon is the 2nd largest theater after Main, and many of its panels will be streamed on Twitch, as will the ones in Main, and you can find them on VOD a day or so later. Armadillo & Bobcat aren't generally streamed, and are smaller, so if you want to see something in there I'd keep abreast of the line situation.

Also, classically, the wifi/internet situation is pretty bad and the food has not been great on site; last year I didn't even check to see where/what food was available in the CC. The Whataburger nearby gets jammed early and stays jammed late.
I came here to sing and collect tokens, and I'm alllll out of money.

So, I'm getting in later on Thursday (like 8 pm) and wondering if any TDers would be interested in playing some board games? I can bring some with me from Cali if needed.
