TOPIC: Mini-Marathon at GHC

We can keep it going and see if we reach 20. But clearly there appears to be enough interest to try and make this happen.

Do we know which days will be the best to run TD? I can only come 3 days, so I'm trying to figure out if its better to come Thursday night and leave Sunday, or come Wednesday night and leave Saturday.

I'd love to go on your alternate list if you're making one. I am not sure exactly which days I will be at GHC either just yet.

no problem. I will start an alternate list and if that gets to 10 we can try to coordinate 2 mini-marathons. It's possible some people would do it twice if they were on different days and we needed to fill out another group. I'd think about it.

We really don't know for sure. Based on past GHC schedules I assume the dungeon will run Thur, Fri and Sat. Based on past and recent schedules I expect one dungeon to start earlier than the other on Thursday and the other dungeon to mirror that on Friday. On Saturday it is likely a full day of both dungeons, but they might end a little earlier in order to start teardown. I would look at E1 and E2 at Origins as a template and think they might mirror that with E2 and E3 at GHC. But all of this is subject to how many volunteers they get and other factors of which I'm probably not aware.

We have time to work this part out. I just wanted to see if there was interest. GHC badges go on sale starting tomorrow. True Dungeon tickets go on sale July 27, but VIGs can start event registration on July 20. I think that includes True Dungeon. We have at least 1 VIG in our group, so can look to secure runs starting then. I expect the GHC schedule will be announced sometime after Origins, but before July 20. However, there is always a possibility of them modifying the schedule later. They've done that in the past as well, but usually they only do that if they are able to add runs.

All of the above is speculation on my part, but expect we'll hear more after Origins.

Added you to the start of the second list. A lot can happen between now and GHC. Some people might drop out and others may express interest. Some may be interested in doing it twice. We still have more than a month before tkts go on sale.

I'd be willing to run two marathons, if the times don't overlap and it makes the difference in getting a second group. I'd of course step out of the second if we get enough interest to fill it without me.

And in the random event you end up with open spots in both runs I will also do 2 marathons

I'll update the listings later, when i get home. I'd be willing to try a short-handed marathon, but unless someone is willing to ghost slots we'd run the risk of random people signing up for 1 run or the other. Although I kind of think we can probably get a 2nd group of 10.

In any event, we still have time. Once they release the schedule we can pick days and time slots and finalize rosters.

The unfortunate thing about this format is that it may not be conducive to volunteers. It seems unlikely they would have a 4 hour free block of time, at least not if they are FT.
