TOPIC: Mini-Marathon at GHC

First, it seems like we should have a 2019 GameHole Con section in the forum. We're well past housing and the due date of VIGs to renew their badges has already passed. Open registration starts this coming Saturday and event registration will be the week before GenCon.

Second, from what I understand the plan is to run E2 and E3 dungeons at GHC. There was an earlier post floating a marathon idea, which is nearly impossible to pull of at Gen Con (at least back to back).

I'd like to see if there is interest in running E2 and E3 events back to back and treat it as a continuous dungeon. Basically, just keep the same character card for both runs and any special powers and spells are only usable over the course of all 14 rooms. Spell casters will likely need to prepare with wands, scrolls or melee. We'll have to decide how to handle it if we all die in room 7 (i.e. Pelor intervenes or whatever makes sense). Any token usable once per adventure can only be used once between both dungeons. We can hash out the rest of the details once we decide if we want to do this.

1. We need a list of 10 people committed to going to GHC and able to block out a 4 hour chunk of time. Obviously, I'd like to do this and would throw my name in preferably as an Elf Wizard, but may be flexible.
2. We need to decide upon a preferable day and time to do this. Preferably we would come up with a few options, but this should not be impossible to pull off at GHC. We obviously will need to wait for the GHC schedule to do this, which will likely be after Origins, so we have at least few weeks to see if there is any interest.
3. Someone needs to buy out two runs (2 hours apart). In theory we could run them 12 or 24 minutes closer, but so as not to throw off the True Dungeon staff, we probably should allow some time in between to do epilog from E2 and then do any restroom stops. Coaching room for E3 should be easy. Just take a pic of the party card from E2 and have the coach transcribe it for E3. Unless someone with VIG status wants to volunteer, I'm willing to try buying out the two runs.
4. Hash out the remaining details over how this should work.
5. Show up and have fun. Make sure to register for both dungeons when starting E2 to save a little time.

So, any interest? After Origins we'll have some idea of how hard E2 will be. However, registration will start prior to GenCon, so E3 will still be a mystery, but will known prior to GHC.

And if a GHC 2019 forum section is started, can this be moved to it?

I am totally bup for this, I love challenge runs, I could sponsor if needed since vig and would be up for cleric or fighter.

yes, I totally do NOT take credit for the idea. But since I liked it so much, I'd really like to see it happen.

I'm interested in joining. Prefer human wizard, but can be convinced of something else if there's a need. I'd also prefer either Thursday or Friday. Saturday morning could work too, if the schedule is similar to last year.

I would be interested - prefer Ranger if available.

Nightmare would be my initial thought, but we can finalize that later.

We'll have to wait for the schedule to come out, but lately the typical format has been to start one dungeon early and end early on Thursday and start/end the other dungeon early on Friday. Both dungeons may start early on Saturday. So our options would likely be mid-day on Thursday/Friday or pretty much any time on Saturday. The day they start E2 earlier we could go for a late morning start.

Of course, maybe there will be a huge inflow of volunteers for GHC and they'll decide to do all 3 dungeons. Not very likely, but in that case we could be discussing whether to go for the full 3 adventure marathon.
