TOPIC: Completion token list

Regarding WYC 2016, I had in my notes "True Grind: Deeperdark Redux", implying that they were the same thing. Might have been a typo though.

Well, Wikipedia says I had a typo: there were indeed two separate events.

Updated Underduck to come from the "True Grind: Astral Adventure" event of WYC 2015. Let me know if someone actually remembers if that's right or not :)

That does not feel right to me. I think it was the Adventure at WYC not the grind. I don't remember what it was called though. I ended up with a bunch of ducks and I should not have got that many if it was grind as I only do 1 or 2 grinds. An adventure it is very possible I bought out a run or two.

Me neither - thought I had discovered something. I'll revert the list - it might have been a "best of" compilation adventure.

Harpy claw amulet and necklace of the oak were not completion tokens.

See 2009 true realm
this is not a signature.

Thanks for that link! They were on the list since their Source is Completion on Token Db. I'll mention it in that thread in case there should be a change.

Ok, the non-completion tokens identified earlier (and Ring of the Hallowed) are gone from the list.

Remaining weirdness:
2007: Guild of Ale Drinkers, Ring of the Eye
2008: Invitation to Celebration, Ring of Iuz, Ring of Pelor
2010: Necklace of the Ash, Necklace of the Elm

Wyld Guesses:
Guild (2007) and Invitation (2008) were given to everyone.
Ring of the Eye (2007) was the hardcore completion token.
The rings from 2008 represent the light/dark deities in the story arc, but what this means for source I don't know.
Seems odd to have two completion tokens for True Grind 2010, so something's up with that.

Thanks for everyone's help so far!

Just going from my memory, here.....

Guild (2007) and Invitation (2008) were given to everyone.

Sort of.
These were both given out at the end of the run (as Completion tokens are) and allowed players one free entry to the TD Fantasy Tavern. Some people used them, but others kept them as collectibles.
I'm pretty sure they were in addition to the regular completion tokens given out that year.

Ring of the Eye (2007) was the hardcore completion token.

Matches with my memory, yep.

The rings from 2008 represent the light/dark deities in the story arc, but what this means for source I don't know.

As far as I can recall, Ring of Iuz was the Hardcore completion token, and Pelor was the Normal mode token.
But that's not something I can say for sure.

And for the Necklace of the Ash & Necklace of the Elm....

My memory of this was that you got them by wearing the Amulet of Wonder into the dungeon, at the True Realm Event. You got Necklace of the Ash for doing one of the dungeons, and Necklace of the Elm for the other. Once word got out about this particular effect for the AoW, everyone who had an AoW started wearing them, just to get the exclusive tokens.

Thanks, Raven! That all makes sense.

I know that the AoW granted the Harpy Claw and Necklace of the Oak at True Realm in 2009.

There’s already an TDb entry for AoW powers in 2010, but it doesn’t specifically have one for True Realm. Would make sense that these are tied to something else other than Completion, though. Interesting!

There's a good chance that there was a Nightmare option for TG2010 (according to a Gen Con 2010 page on TD events), so I'm putting the pair of Necklaces there (Elm normal, Ash nightmare) - at least for now.

I just noticed that the Soul Jar, Soul Coffer, Shoes of Fire Step, and Boots of Inferno Step all show the 2018 icon symbol on the sides. Yet they are the completion Tokens for PAX South 2019. So are these 2018 or 2019 Tokens...?
