Jeff, I'm very sorry to hear about your loss, you both created a Gaming Legacy together that spread a lot of joy to people across the world. In honor of your Brother and the theme of this years adventure an old Norse Prayer:

Lo, There do I see my Father
Lo, There do I see my Mother and
My Brothers and my Sisters
Lo, There do I see the line of my people back to the beginning
Lo, They do call to me
They bid me take my place among them in the halls of Valhalla
Where thine enemies have been vanquished
Where the brave shall live Forever
Nor shall we mourn but rejoice for those that have died
"The Dreams of Youth are the Regrets of Maturity."

Boom goes the Devil Drake when this Rogue slides a 20 with a Holy Hand Grenade.

So very sorry to hear of this loss for you and your family.

Good luck to all of you and your family getting through this.

It's great that you can help reflect on positivity.

Perhaps a token in his honor?

Definitely a toast in November!

Loss of family is the hardest, and it may not truly hit you until weeks or months later, but don't be afraid to show your sorrow and mourn your loss. You have my condolences.

Our condolences on your loss. Didn't get much chance to see you at GenCon because of it, but had heard what was going on. Hold on to all the great memories, that's how we honor our loved ones.

Losing a loved one is amongst the most painful experiences one can go through. It’s hard to remember the good times when you know that person is gone. Like Brad said, words seems like so little, yet they are all we can offer to you and your family. You are all in our thoughts.

Because of your brother and the passion you shared for gaming and adventure you embarked on an epic journey to create this wonderful world that has brought so many of us together. True Dungeon is a new family full of brothers and sisters that also share in that passion. We are all here for you. I will light a candle and say a prayer for you and yours. I am so sorry for your loss.

The Empty Chair
Eulogy for a Gamer
From Kenzer & Co, author unknown

There is an empty chair,
at the table this day.
A hallowed place where,
a friend once played.
The roll of his dice,
my ears long to hear.
Or perhaps it would suffice,
if he should suddenly appear.
With character sheet in hand,
and a bag of Cheeze-doodles to share.
All his friends would stand,
as he sat in the empty chair.
I hear his voice a-callin’,
and it ties my heart in a knot.
For he cries, “Though a comrade has fallen,
You must play for those who cannot.”
We conquered worlds on the run,
he and I in the name of fun.
And as others may come and go,
I make both both friend and foe.
But what I long for most,
is our past now long a ghost.

May you and your family find peace in his passing, joy in your memories, and comfort in each other.

This should happen. What a great memorial.
D&D teaches all the important lessons in life - the low blow, the cheap shot, the back stab, the double cross. - Jerry Marsischky

Let them trap us. We have our swords. - Elric of Melnibone.

You try to get them to play the game, but all they want to do is play the rules. - Ardak Kumerian

I do not love the bright sword for its sharpness, nor the arrow for its swiftness, nor the warrior for his glory. I love only that which they defend - Faramir

I will never forget his first D&D adventure under a certain ruin tower, nor my character’s glorious death at the hands of a goblin guard. He was very generous to run this annoying, snot-nose kid through a D&D adventure in such a marvelous fashion. This first introduction to D&D changed my life is so many positive ways.

Please know that your brother's legacy through you continues to affect untold others in positive ways with True Dungeon. Thank you for sharing these deeply personal thoughts with us. We now know we have your brother to thank as well as you for the wonderful gift of True Dungeon. I am extremely sorry for your loss.

I'm glad I read all the way through this thread... I was just about to post this. B)

Jeff, again, my deepest condolences. The TD Family took care of your Dungeon quite well in your absences this past weekend so you could do what needed to be done. We're all there for you and yours.
