Doing one envelope per token would be a lot, so I thought I could combine them, maybe three each. I'd have to mark that they would be best for spellcasters.

Any chance of creating a treasure draw box for new players at check-in, or a supply for coaches?

Then again, maybe there wouldn't be that many consumables available. Have other people been using them?

I have something in the neighborhood of 20-30 I've used (rares, condensed healing, etc.) I have been giving thought as to which of the following is the best option for when we return in person:
1. Option 1: I hand 1 random new player a decent sized bag of tokens. Based on going 5 runs each of all 5 VTD modules, it should be around 100 tokens. That might really make someone's day (or just confuse them greatly);

2. Option 2: I create 25 bags of 5 tokens each to hand out to new players. This has a downside of taking time in person handing these out unless I can convince someone handing out 10 packs to slip one of these into a number of new player runs.

3. Option 3: I figure out the value of the consumables used (probably around $200-$250 by next August) and hand out a single 5 point relic like the +3 holy avenger/necklace of the spirit drake/lute of fury or something like that based on that player's preferred class.

I am leaning towards option 3 as that is most likely to convince someone to return since they would have an item they could build on in the future that really makes a difference in their class. It also means carrying fewer pounds of tokens :)

Thoughts?

I think we should move this to its own thread....lol.

Can previous patron and AG codes be reused - or will new codes be issued?

Let the coaches distribute them. We don’t have to hunt down new players, they come to us.
D&D teaches all the important lessons in life - the low blow, the cheap shot, the back stab, the double cross. - Jerry Marsischky

Let them trap us. We have our swords. - Elric of Melnibone.

You try to get them to play the game, but all they want to do is play the rules. - Ardak Kumerian

I do not love the bright sword for its sharpness, nor the arrow for its swiftness, nor the warrior for his glory. I love only that which they defend - Faramir

Will distribute mine on my own. Get to know new players and share the excitement.

We intentionally used more consumables than normal because of the future fun of passing them on to new players. We have been doing one envelope per run per character.

I like to do PUG with unknown players. I may make a few envelopes for the different classes I've played.

Also interested in knowing if the previous patron and ag codes entered will work for the event registration this weekend or if a new round of codes will be sent out to everyone including those of 9th level.

We will be automatically adding everyone in the existing Patron and AG groups into the same groups for the new cons so you won't have to do anything (and no codes will be sent).
